Pay your taxes or step down -- that's the message House Republicans are sending to Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., chairman of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee and subject of a major ethics probe into alleged tax evasion and other violations.
House Republicans on Wednesday attempted to pass a resolution to remove Rangel from his chairmanship following the reading of a long and stinging list of alleged wrongdoing. The measure stemmed from a major ethics probe into Rangel's alleged failure to pay his taxes and disclose income on multiple properties -- as much as $1.3 million.
But House Democrats were quick to strike down the measure to oust Rangel, who represents New York's Harlem district. House Republicans refused to accept defeat of the resolution, and asked for a second recorded vote following the first. The reading of the resolution was interrupted several times, and at one point was challenged by Democrats before being put to a vote.

If the dimwits are unwilling to recognize the failures of their own; why should they be sitting in Congress?

We all need to contact our representatives over this and ask them where they stand on this in light of this new era of transparency and ethics that the dems promised.
Put the pressure on!

You “Honkies” have to understand that you have to allow people of “Color” freedom from all responsibilities for 100 or more years due to the consideration that you “Honkies” enslaved their ancestors and they can no longer live in Africa in their mud huts like they really and truly want.
The people of “Color” that have adapted to our way of life and like to live in a nice clean home with modern conveniences and hold down good jobs are traitors and prevent the others from living peacefully in their dream mud huts.

This is actually a good thing since whatever Charlie was going to do will or will not happen whether he is there or not BUT having him stay stops the sneaky plan the NYS Democrats have to push Charlie out so Paterson can bow out and NOT run for election as governor.
If he somehow gets the nomination the GOP could pull a name out of a phone book and beat him. Plus he will pull down the now Democrat controlled NYS Senate. So let Charlie stay where he is. He serves as an example of Democrat corruption and keeps the hope of Paterson running alive.

Question for Gibbs:
Does Obama support Charlie Rangel in light of his tax problems? What would a Democrat in the House have to do to be booted from a committee in light of this travesty?
