"US-based toy retailer Toys"R"Us has been reprimanded for gender discrimination following a complaint filed by a group of Swedish sixth graders about the store’s 2008 Christmas catalogue.
Last winter, a sixth grade class at Gustavslund school in Växjö in south central Sweden reported Toys"R"Us to the Reklamombudsmannen (Ro), a self-regulatory agency which polices marketing and advertising communications in Sweden to ensure they are in line with guidelines set out by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
According to the youngsters, the Toys"R"Us Christmas catalogue featured “outdated gender roles because boys and girls were shown playing with different types of toys, whereby the boys were portrayed as active and the girls as passive”, according to a statement from Ro.
The group’s teacher explained to the local Smålandsposten newspaper that filing the complaint was the culmination of more than two years of “long-term work” by the students on gender roles."

These little socialist utopians in training should take a field trip down in their own city of Malmo and see how the islamic settlers which make up 30% of the cities population deal with the subject of “gender discrimination” before spending years analyzing american businesses.

Hmmm....I somehow find it hard to believe that a 13 year old really thought that up himself. This kid has been getting heavy indoctrination from the parental units and/or the state.

This is such a joke because if Toys R Us is really marketing for outdated gender roles, their sales will suffer until they market for the correct roles. Duh.
What this radical fringe group is afraid of is that the overwhelming majority of the public, even in Europe, prefers traditional gender role items. Young boys prefer toy trucks and girls prefer toy dolls. It’s not rocket science. As they age, older boys begin to prefer older girls and older girls begin to prefer older boys’ wallets.

More and more men are complaining of a “gagging” reflex accompanied by a sense of “emptiness” in their crotch. Exams and MRIs reveal that men are literally losing their gonads in one area, and choking on them in another area. Instances of this condition have been reported in the United States, particularly among registered Democrats and so-called RINOs.

Remove all models from the ads, male and female. Print only in monochrome/no color conflicts or associations. Remove all text/no language conflicts or association. Remove all prices/no value disparity conflicts. Finally, remove all pictures of the toys themselves and replace with a government issued question mark....
It's the notion that boys and girls would play the same way, with the same toys, that's outdated. This nonsense really took hold in the 1970’s & early 1980’s — and lasted until “progressive” parents discovered that they couldn't socialize the gender roles out of their kids. Give a boy a doll & it becomes an “action figure”. Give a girl a toy truck & she'll try to put a dress on it.

It's subtle. All the ads and sitcoms with Loser Failure Daddy being saved and corrected by wives and daughters who hold him in contempt are only a part of it.
This crap would indeed be humorous if what was behind it wasn’t so ominous.
What creeps me out is hearing parents proudly brag that they never let their kids play with gender specific toys.
One of my brothers (who is a big lib) complained to me one time that he and his wife had worked hard to not use any gender conditioning with toys, but even though they would never think of buying a toy gun for their son, no matter how hard they tried, he would use a stick, his finger or even a piece of Wonder Bread torn up to resemble the outline of a gun to hold in his hand and brandish!
I always laugh at that one...of all things, a gun. How horrible!

That will never work, you must tell the kids what they want.
I recall an experiment by liberal sociologists where they gave a bunch of boys a dollhouse and dolls. Within a few a minutes the boys staged an artillery barrage on the dollhouse and killed all the dolls. Needless to say, the liberal wimps were horrified. I saw future Rangers and Marines.
These are 10-11 year olds...someone needs to investigate this teacher.
