At a time of tension between their organizations, White House senior adviser David Axelrod met with Fox News chairman and chief executive officer Roger Ailes two weeks ago
The two met privately in Manhattan during the presidents visit to the United Nations.
The two discussed news coverage and the relationship between the organizations.
Ailes is the founder of Fox News. A key part of Axelrods portfolio is the presidents image and broad message
White House officials have expressed pique with what they consider heavy coverage of Obama critics by opinion shows on the news channel.

uhoh...
I hope Ailes holds his ground. I don’t ever recall this much blatant thuggery in the White House.
Their problem with Fox is that they relate the facts to people. They tell it like it is and they don’t want that. People like Glenn Beck ask the questions.....they haven’t got the answers but they know they don’t like him. The left has never answered Glenn’s questions. That alone should tell people where they are coming from.
Gee, are they trying to muzzle Glenn Beck? Where’s the Captain Obvious pic...
I hope Ailes told Axelrod to step off.
Fox News should have televised the meeting.
Newscorp executives endorse John Kerry in 2004. Fox News isn’t conservative. It is to the right of CNN. But CNN is to the right of CNN International.
..Ailes would eat Axelrod for lunch if he tried to pressure him. He worked with Lee Atwater—they must not know who they are dealing with...
Ailes would be a fool to buckle under Axelrod’s thuggery...
Without Fox we would have absolutely no TV station to turn to for at least a somewhat balanced photo of this presidency. This makes me sick - looks more like “Hitlerism” everyday in this country.
Methinks very little that is good could come out of such a meeting. Ailes would ask for better access to Obama. Axelrod would ask for more favorable coverage. Not good.
They can only push the envelope so far. Be ready for a false-flag action. That is the malicious corner into which they are painting themselves.
This is very upsetting.
I agree with Rush (referring to what he said today). These people are evil. They want to destroy us, everything about this country, our principles, and everything we hold sacred.
Free speech is clearly on the chopping block.
The current regime appears to be enamored in thuggery and buggery..
Holds what ground? They already break into programming with a Fox News Alert every time obama farts for Chrissake! FNS is a bogeyman in Axelrod's mind only!
And why are we just hearing about this NOW?
Sorry I do NOT trust ‘Fox’ anymore than I trust the rest of the Jon Stewart media.
