Pretty former "Late Show" staffer Stephanie Birkitt revealed in her diary that she continued having sex with boss David Letterman even after moving in with her CBS-producer boyfriend, who later allegedly tried to extort him over the affair, sources told The Post yesterday.
Letterman and Birkitt enjoyed romantic hikes last fall at his sprawling ranch in eastern Montana -- where he was married in March -- while her boyfriend, "48 Hours Mystery" producer Robert "Joe" Halderman, stayed home in Connecticut, the sources said.

Birkitt later tried to use the generous offer to persuade Halderman to have children with her, saying she would bring in the bucks in her new job and he could stay home as a Mr. Mom, the sources said...

Way back when Letterman was first on tv (and I would watch from time to time) he had his mother on the show frequently. He probably used her to make him look like a decent person, which hey may have been at one time.

He has not been funny for 15+ years since Chris Elliott left the show as a writer. Chris is hilarious. Bob Elliott, his dad, raised him a lot better than Dave’s mom raised Dave. I think his mom was a Dem too.
SO the producer divorces his wife and then hooks up with someone half his age. She hooks up with someone about 3 times her age on the side.
This is all way more than I ever wanted to know about these people. None of them have anything to be proud of.
An aside. Since when did hiking become popular among adulterers? I used to enjoy that on camping trips when I was a teenager but now I’m thinking if ever I experience the urge to do so again I’ll pass.

In Dave's case he probably went with the easiest target as besides the money and fame is both a loser, hateful, unfortunate looking fellow.
I remember enjoying Letterman’s mom’s reports from the winter Olympics in Norway. She was downhearted and delightful.
