Posted on 10/06/2009 10:08:43 AM PDT by kristinn
The Armed Forces recruiting center located at 14th and L Streets, NW, Washington, D.C., will be targeted by the SDS tomorrow afternoon as part of their 'Funk the War' protest aimed at undermining support for America in the war on terror.
The demonstration will mark the eighth anniversary of the opening Afghan front in the global war on terror. SDS protesters have targeted the 14th and L recruiting center many times before, usually with rocks and paint bombs. At one protest they stormed and ransacked the front part of the center.
This is what happened on March 19 last year:

SDS announcement for this year's protest:
October 7th will mark the eighth year that the U.S. has been at war with Afghanistan, under the auspice of fighting the war on terror. In eight years under occupation, tens of thousands of Afghans have been killed by U.S. air strikes, bombs, and bullets, and the Afghani infrastructure has been devastated.
In just one day of this war, May 4, 2009, U.S. air strikes killed over 150 Afghan children, women, men in a village in Farah province.
Join DC Students for a Democratic Society on October 7th and FUNK THE WAR. We'll be dancing through downtown DC to raise a ruckus and make our voice heard.
Meet us at Thomas Circle at 3:30! We'll be leaving the circle once everyone is there.
Don't rely on their gathering time, arrive early at the recruiting center just in case and plan to stay though rush hour.
D.C. Chapter mega ping!
Students for Dictatorial Stalinists.
Will Obama vote “Present” for that?
“DC Students for a Democratic Society is an action-oriented student and youth power network devoted to collective liberation within ourselves, our schools, and our communities. DC SDS uses participatory democracy and takes direction from community-based organizations to create positive change.”
“DC SDS is a chapter of the national youth and student liberation movement Students for a Democratic Society”
SDS was the organization that gave birth to the Weather Underground.
“Weatherman, known colloquially as the Weathermen and later the Weather Underground Organization (abbreviated WUO), was an American radical left organization. It originated in 1969 as a faction of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) composed for the most part of the national office leadership of SDS and their supporters.”
Nah, he’s sending Ayers to represent the administration.
Those nutcases are holding a protest here at UWM tomorrow. I will do the usual counter. Got some old ProtestWarrior signs to use!
We cannot make it. We were in DC on Monday countering Code Pink et al. Wish I knew about this earlier, would have been able to make this one and skipped Monday.
But if some FReeper need a particular sign made, let me know. We’ll coordinate a pick up site.
Sent on to friends in DC to see if they can round up some people.
Check this out: Ayers spotted at Reagan National yesterday AM. Coincidence?
I asked—what are you doing in D.C. Mr. Ayers?
For a moment I thought he might be on my flight back to Chicago. Charming. Initially I guess he thought I was laying claim to his coffee or something. He gave me an uneasy cheesy smile when he realized I was taking his picture. I asked him if he was speaking at GW? (Only I said GFW, guess I had the VFW on my mind) He said oh you mean GW, he said no...was trying to decide if I was a fan, then said he was giving a lecture in Arlington to a Renaissance group on education—that’s what I do, education—you shouldn’t believe everything you hear about me, you know nothing about me. I said, I know plenty—I’m from Chicago, a conservative blogger, and I’ll post this. (Oh, yeah, Bill Ayers, quite the Renaissance man, nail-bomber extraordinaire. Gee, I see another friend of Barack, U.S. Sec. of Education Arne Duncan was there too. “The conference theme is A Time for Reflection, Celebration and Rebirth. How touching. At best, useless, at worst, so wrong.)
I'm glad the blogger wrote her post about seeing Obama's terrorist buddy at Reagan National Airport; it's an especially nice photo of the chickensh*t terrorist looking a bit afraid of the blogger.
I would like to amend the protest rules to allow us to throw rocks and paint bombs at the SDS maggots. Thanks in advance.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Do you have any background on these jerks?
“Meet us at Thomas Circle at 3:30! We’ll be leaving the circle once everyone is there.”
What the hell does that mean? The recruiting station might be closed by then.
They plan to snarl get-out-of-work traffic downtown.
Yes, they're a bunch of "peace-loving", "community organizers" out to "Change" America forever through "Liberation" (to a communist dictatorship)...
Mission statement from their website:
Some background on the original 1960s SDS...
"Weatherman, known colloquially as the Weathermen and later the Weather Underground Organization (abbreviated WUO), was an American radical left organization. It originated in 1969 as a faction of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) composed for the most part of the national office leadership of SDS and their supporters.
With a charismatic and articulate leadership whose revolutionary positions were characterized by anti-imperialist, feminist, and Black liberationist rhetoric, the group conducted a campaign of bombings through the mid-1970s, including aiding the jailbreak and escape of Timothy Leary. The "Days of Rage," their first public demonstration on October 8, 1969, was a riot in Chicago timed to coincide with the trial of the Chicago Seven. In 1970 the group issued a "Declaration of a State of War" against the United States government, under the name "Weather Underground Organization" (WUO)."
[this graphic, btw, is from the late 60s or early 70s, not 2009. This recent action might well be related to some anniversary of theirs. -etl]
"Their founding document [the Weather Underground's] called for the establishment of a "white fighting force" to be allied with the "Black Liberation Movement" and other "anti-colonial" movements to achieve "the destruction of US imperialism and the achievement of a classless world: world communism."..."-Berger, Dan (2006). Yahoo search results for "SDS" "Ayers" "Reunion":
From Investor's Business Daily (IBD), August 27, 2008:
"Ayers, now a tenured distinguished professor of education at UIC, works to educate teachers in socialist revolutionary ideology, urging that it be passed on to impressionable students.
One of Ayer's descriptions for a course called 'Improving Learning Environments' says prospective K-12 teachers need to 'be aware of the social and moral universe we inhabit and ... be a teacher capable of hope and struggle, outrage and action, teaching for social justice and liberation.
The Annenberg papers are quite extensive 132 boxes containing 947 file folders with 70 linear feet of material. They undoubtedly contain more surprises regarding Obama's relationship with Ayers, one of many relationships Obama has sought to hide.'..."

From the website of the Revolutionary Communist Party (revcom.us or rwor.org) :
"Create Public Opinion, Seize Power: We are preparing minds and organizing forces for the time when there is a major crack in the system, whenever it comes and wherever it comes from: an opening that makes it possible to bring the future Revolutionary Army of the Proletariat (R.A.P.) into the field and wage a revolutionary armed struggle that actually has a chance of winning.
And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":
"I asked, 'well what is going to happen to those people we can't reeducate, that are diehard capitalists?' and the reply was that they'd have to be eliminated. And when I pursued this further, they estimated they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these reeducation centers. And when I say 'eliminate,' I mean 'kill.' Twenty-five million people. I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of which have graduate degrees, from Columbia and other well-known educational centers, and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people. And they were dead serious."
"Dig It. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victims stomach! Wild!"

"It was at the Chicago home of [Bill] Ayers and [Bernardine] Dohrn that Obama, then an up-and-coming 'community organizer,' had his political coming out party in 1995. Not content with this rite of passage in Lefty World where unrepentant terrorists are regarded as progressive luminaries, still working 'only to educate' both Obamas tended to the relationship with the Ayers."

I’ve been told the recruiting center was hit overnight and that the front is well covered with red paint.
