PORTLAND, Maine -- Inmates at Maine's prisons have been busy registering to vote.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People says it registered an estimated 200 or more inmates last week.
The NAACP says the effort is the first time there's been a systemwide initiative to register inmates across an entire state. Maine is one of two states that allows felons to vote while in prison. Vermont is the other.
Rachel Talbot Ross, president of the NAACP chapter in Portland, says the organization will lead another registration drive next summer at county jails, as well as state prisons.

These inmates they're converting are largely converted muslims.
The name should be changed to the NAACMP!

It’s not, but it depends on who they are voting for. It’s also illegal to place in the white house, a foreign born usurper, but that happened anyway.

My first thought too. I thought that was part of the punishment: losing their right to vote. I thought they had to go to court to get their voting rights restored AFTER completing their prison sentence.

Willie Sutton said, when asked why he robbed banks, “Because that’s where the money is”. Does the Nat’l Association for the Advancement of Colored People likewise spearheads voter drives in prisons because, sadly, that’s where the “colored people” are?
Since more inmates are there for stealing (in one form or another) then becoming registered democrats would be the next logical choice.
Once they have a significant number of them, and a couple of election cycles, they’ll be saying it isn’t fair to the rest of the criminals in prisons to prohibit them from voting.
And they will vote.
