Rove donated to Rubio
NBC News Chuck Todd has the scoop that Karl Rove is supporting Marco Rubio, the conservative challenger to Gov. Charlie Crist, in the Republican primary for the Senate in Florida at least with his money.
Rove donated $1,000 to Rubio's campaign -- a sign of support for the underdog as he goes up against the governor, who holds a significant fundraising advantage.
NBC's First Read also concludes that the donation as a sign of where former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's true loyalties lie:
Many believe this is Jeb's way of quietly telling influential Florida Republicans that he'd prefer Rubio but doesn't want to alienate Crist since he's still the heavy favorite in the primary. For Rubio, he needs to show some viability and that begins with his next fundraising report. But the most important fundraising report might actually be by the end of the year when you'll truly be able to see how Rubio's been able to use the Jeb neutrality (support?) to his advantage. Remember, Jeb is to Florida Republicans what Reagan is to the party nationally, he's held in THAT high of regard.
UPDATE: Rubio campaign spokesman Alex Burgos confirms Rove's $1,000 donation, which was sent online yesterday (so it won't be showing up on his upcoming fundraising report).

This made my day!

Rove donated to Rubio? Rubio must be farther to the left than I thought? Rove definitely seems more like a Crist kind-of-guy?
Well, that makes me and Rove even. I donated to Rubio....just not as much as Rove.
Little do you know. Trust the conservatives in Florida when they/we speak out for Rubio and against Crist.
I am glad to hear this too. I hope there are lots more.
I’m in Orlando ,, our local talk radio station has interviewed Rubia and asked him about Immigration , taxes , and everything else we care about ... Rubio seems to be one of us and his words sound genuine,, Crist sure isn’t.
Anyone who supports Crist must be defeated and opposed. If they did so 6 months ago, even 3 months ago, well fine. But not now. Not from this day forward. There is absolutely no excuse whatsoever to support Crist with Rubio in the race. None. Last chance Republicans.
Palin/Rubio 2016
There are also signs of people wanting to tie Sarah Palin to a RINO anchor, the old guard won't give up it's power easily.
Exactly my sentiments!
Rove was always conservative — his boss went more to the middle especially in the 2nd term which Rove left. Rove is close to Jeb who is supporting Rubio and is still well liked in FL at least from people I speak with down there. When you work for someone you do what you are told. That includes supporting candidates like Specter who you would never see him support on his own IMHO.
Crist is not well liked by Jeb and his family even a little!
Thanks for pinging. I had to go do an errand and was going to ping you to ping everyone when I got back. You read my mind! Love the picture!
Jeb is a conservative and FL is Jeb’s state — he has come out in support of Rubio and thus starting to get donors on board. Rubio needs the money.
Actually Rove is much more conservative then he was in the last term of Bush. I still don’t know what happened and probably we will never figure it out as Bush went to the middle AFTER he was elected. Makes no sense to this day!
I actually had a phone conversation with Jeb when his dad was running. I carefully explained the 2nd amendment to him, and he said he had never heard it put that way. I told him "shame on your daddy".
I've been betrayed and disappointed too many times, I'm not going to buy any more pigs in a poke!
Did I say Bush #41 was a conservative? You will never get me to say that.
I donated once, have a letter from him sitting on my desk now. I’m donating again when I pay my bills tomorrow. I’m also having some brochures printed to hand out.
Chances are it was Bud Hedinger's show. I miss him in the afternoons.
Rubio was at our Tea Party in Lakeland on 9-12 and was impressive. He stood out in the rain like the rest of us.
