Obama's Meeting With the Dalai Lama Is Delayed
Washington Post ^

In an attempt to gain favor with China, the United States pressured Tibetan representatives to postpone a meeting between the Dalai Lama and President Obama until after Obama's summit with his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao, scheduled for next month, according to diplomats, government officials and other sources familiar with the talks.
For the first time since 1991, the Tibetan spiritual leader will visit Washington this week and not meet with the president. Since 1991, he has been here 10 times. Most times the meetings have been "drop-in" visits at the White House. The last time he was here, in 2007, however, George W. Bush became the first sitting president to meet with him publicly, at a ceremony at the Capitol in which he awarded the Dalai Lama the Congressional Gold Medal, Congress's highest civilian award.

Well, at least this will give Obama time to get
the Dali Lama a suitable gift, like a boxed DVD
set of Michele’s speeches.

But he promised him on his deathbed he would receive total conciousness, so at least he’s got that going for him.

This fits the Obama pattern, I’m afraid.

A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-lagunga.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice....

I'm beginning to wonder IF A SINGLE DAY WILL PASS when I'm not disgusted by or ashamed of my President.
Look as this case. Obama can't even stand by a new-agey, kum-bay-yah, beloved by lefties, peacenik like the Dalai Lama.
I mean, seriously, there are probably thousands and thousands of lefties out there for whom acknowledging and adamantly rejecting the “rape of Tibet” is the ONLY exception they make to appeasing leftist thugs and tyrants. Yet now we find that Obama can't manage even that ONE exceptionally exceptional, all but universally accepted, exception!

That was done by the government of Myanmar not China. If you want pictures of dead Tibetan Buddhists killed by the Chinese I can point you towards dozens of them.

American officials told Tibetan representatives that "this president is not interested in symbolism or photo ops but in deliverables," the Asian diplomat said. "He wants something to come out of his efforts over Tibet, rather than just checking a box." There is the biggest laugh of the whole article. Take away the symbolism and 0bama disappears in a puff of smoke.
