TONY Blair is set to be made the first President of Europe in weeks, The Sun can reveal.
He will be nominated by EU leaders in Brussels if, as expected, Ireland backs the hated Lisbon Treaty in tomorrow's referendum.
A senior Government source said: "If we get a 'Yes' vote it will all move very, very quickly. Tony could be named by the end of October."
The leaders of the EU's 27 nations, not the voters, will choose the president.
Former PM Mr Blair would not formally take up the powerful position until all EU countries ratified the Treaty.
Even if Ireland votes "Yes", Poland and the Czech Republic are still to decide. But Sweden, which currently holds the EU presidency, wants a president named by the end of this month - and Mr Blair is favourite.
Asked if Mr Blair was the only real candidate, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner replied: "For the moment, indeed."
A senior French diplomat added: "Who will dare say no to Tony Blair?" He played down concerns about Mr Blair's support for the Iraq War.
The revelations came as Tory leader David Cameron said his party would think again about a referendum on the Treaty if every EU country approves it.
If all don't, he vowed to hold a national vote on the issue.
He said: "If the Germans ratify, if the Poles ratify, if the Czechs ratify, if the Irish vote 'Yes' to the Treaty, then a new set of circumstances (apply), and I will address those at the time."
Not sure how accurate this piece is..But if true that is pretty scarry!
Do ya think we could find Obama a European birth certificate so he could run for President of Europe, and we could get rid of him???

The former Prime Minister met the US President at a National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.
And he warned Mr Obama not to get carried away with his worldwide adulation. Mr Blair said: “You don’t need cheerleaders but partners, not spectators but supporters.
“The truest friends are those still around when the going gets toughest.”
Mr Blair, who is now an envoy to the Middle East, also told President Obama he should turn to religion in times of difficulty.
President of Europe, seriously? I swear - they’ve all gone mad.
Oh great. Obama is now mulling over ideas. He’s bored with being President of the U.S.; I’ll bet he starts making moves to somehow become President of the Americas. North and South America will merge and Obama will become President.

From my experience, the Europeans I've known and talked to hate the EU. It is a disaster in many ways, and it's getting worse, just ungodly leftist. Lisbon usurps even more power from each country and hands it over to bureaucrats in Brussels.

For it’s own survival, it will predicated on implementing massive Social Engineering at the expense of Individual Liberty. Many in Europe will embrace it’s licentiousness of ‘alternative lifestyles’ and the bread and circus mentality will prevail, but real liberty such as the right to private property and economic freedom will be in rapid decline for the communal interest of the new ‘superstate.’
Unlike Hitler’s Germany, it will be weak militarily, and held only together by a massive bureaucracy of elites that already see themselves as the new kings in charge of the serfdom.

Yes, it has been on the cards for the last year and a half, ever since our dear “leaders” managed to resurrect the (Un)Constitutional Treaty which was killed by the French and Dutch voters. This time it was decided among themselves in unanimity that the people would not be allowed to vote on the issue. The only country whose constitution made it mandatory to hold a referendum was Ireland. The Irish voted NO. But of course our masters didn’t give up, and the Irish were forced to vote again....
Democracy is dead in the countries belonging to the EU. At best we will see a new Habsburg empire, at worst a new USSR.
The Tories are giving up and sh-fting the British electorate once again.

It’s all I can say.
Hopefully this will negatively influence the outcome of upcoming votes (ie the ones occuring outside of Brussels). I guess Ireland’s in such bad financial shape that they’re hoping a stronger EU won’t hesitate to bail them out.
His wife, who will become Europe’s first lady, has already been dubbed “Cherie Antoinette” in Brussels. Foreign Secretary David Miliband said Mr Blair was an “excellent choice.” Irish PM Brian Cowen - the first EU leader to publicly back him - said: “We’d be very supportive.”
Now would be a really good time for the rapture to happen.

I completely agree. I’m not sure exactly how to turn the heart of someone so adamantly opposed to understanding, logic or truth. I struggle with it and that’s the reason I don’t post more than I do. Thank God that you have the will and stamina to beat your head against that proverbial rock as a daily practice.

Tony Blair is a real leader, and if Obama were to listen to the advice Blair has given him, we would all be better off for it. However, Obama is no Blair and he won’t. We need more men like Blair and less like Obama. However, the EU will not tolerate a pro-American, openly Christian man being their leader. Britain and Poland, and to a lesser extent Holland, are our only real allies in Europe. The rest of them don’t deserve a leader like Blair.
Revelations says that we’ll all be crying “Peace, peace”. Well, I don’t see much ‘peace’. And the Jews are not flocking back to their homeland either.
I’m going to call bs on ‘President of Europe, Blair’.
