InkStop Inc., a specialty retailer of ink, toner, consumer electronics and other supplies for small businesses and home offices, abruptly told its employees that it was shuttering all 152 stores nationwide as of Friday and laying off all workers until further notice.
"The company has elected to temporarily close all stores at the close of business today, Oct. 1, to focus on a restructuring plan in an effort to improve the overall operations of the organization," the Warrensville Heights company told employees in a letter sent late Thursday.

unpossible, the economy is in recovery
Economy to Obama: Recover This!
Missunderestimated “recovery.”
Office supplies?? Man that is going to be a tough road back. With Staples and Office Depot covering the bases.
ANother victory of Obamas “No Job Left Behind Him”.
Hope and Change...you bet.
The banks don’t care, the CONgress doesn’t care, TheZero doesn’t care and the elites don’t care.
Who knows how and how bad things are going to get?
I just know that they will.
Lord have mercy, Amen.
We have (had) a great Indian casino down the road from us. They just closed. Go figger ... a casino closing?????? I guess people, at least around here, are being more discretionary with their money ...
I wonder how much of the economic news we are given is merely created by someone’s creative imagination? Who in the devil can one trust to tell the truth? The so called leadership has evidenced again and again that they are nothing but a bunch of greedy, whore mongering, druggies and/or alcoholics. With a batch of perverts thrown in for flavoring.
I have never been to an InkStop store. I never even heard of them. But, if somebody thinks that they can keep selling ink for printers at the prices that prevail....they are seriously not appreciating Capitalism.

Dang, now the govt will have to import ink instead of buying locally......................
“they will run things right up to and over the brink before collapse?”
People keep being told, “THE RECESSION IS OVER! Recovery is right around the corner!”, by the Morons in the Obama administration, nearly every single day.
And just before some more really bad news comes out, we get treated to a series of articles saying exactly the opposite of what is coming out.
Last week is the PERFECT example. Monday and tuesday we were treated to a BARRAGE of “Economy Improving!!” stories, just before all of the HORRIBLE economic and unemployment news came out Thursday and Friday.
So they keep trying to stretch things out until the promised recovery appears, and folks are running out of string.
And instead of doing ANYTHING about jobs, Obama keeps lying, and trying to take control of the economy through Healthcare!
ACORN?
InkStop stopped.
“take control of the economy through Healthcare!”
in the grandest scheme of things, “healthcare” is the red herring.......watch the magicians hands!
| Do business, banks, governments...have their heads so buried in the sand that they will run things right up to and over the brink before collapse?
Here's the situation. You're losing about $2 million per month. You've been covering it by selling short-term securities you built up during the good times, but now those are running low. You've hired some investment bankers to see if they can sell all or part of your business. There have been some serious inquiries, and it's possible that a deal will close on September 30th. If that goes through all will be well, because the buyer has deep pockets and intends to see the recession through. One thing you could do now is inform all your employees that it's quite possible that they'll have no jobs come October 1. And you could inform your customers that you might be closing for good on October 1. Of course, if you do that, the air will go out of your staff and they'll be doing nothing but surfing monster.com for the next two weeks. And your customers will start making other arrangements to get their supplies. When the deal goes through, you'll have lost some good people and a lot of customers. Or you could hope that the deal goes through. |
Ouch!
That’s going to leave a mark ...
There's an Indian casino in Rhode Island that just filed for bankruptcy recently.Don't know if they closed though.Being close to two huge Indian casinos in Connecticut probably didn't help.
Mmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmm
Barack Hussein obama.
What’s next, the “Scotch Tape” store closing?
“in the grandest scheme of things, healthcare is the red herring.”
Remember what V.I. Lenin said:
“Medicine is the Keystone in the arch of Socialism”
In the name of healthcare, they can justify taking over control of every other segment of Society, from Guns, to personal rights, to even your food.
Making people dependent upon the state for medicine is tantamount to making them dependent upon the state for life, The ultimate control over the people. There can be no freedom if the state has control over who lives and dies.
And remember, Donna Brazille mistakenly admitted the reason to take over Healthcare was EXACTLY THAT: CONTROL....
Well, there goes all the pigment for Obama’s green shoots.
Yeah. Right.
There are no indian casinos in RI; Twin River did enter bankruptcy, but is still operating.
Maybe all the laid off Inkspot employees can get jobs there as waiters, dishwashers, etc.
Twin Rivers isn't an Indian casino?
Really, things are picking up for us -a little thrift store.

Wish you luck ... I always hit the thrift stores first ...got some good bargains there ....
The thing was - this casino was small, had a good restaurant good sports bar, bands, and neat people. If you’re looking for someone and they’re not at home or in town they’re there ...
Sorta the same here. The Lucky Dog Casino was between two others albeit they were miles apart ... there’s a bigger one about 35 miles north and one about 45 miles south. The south one has some great venues. I caught the Huey Lewis And The News show with the folks ...The Beach Boys played there as well as Bill Engvall .... so some name people come here ...
Thanks,it would be great to pay some bills for the Ministry. We also started taking can goods for the needy. The people love the idea and we only started 2 weeks ago and word has spread.
BUMP
Where do you live? What city?
I’ll send you freepmail.
Where are you located? We were in cherokee, NC in July and the town looked dead. It is supposed to be bumper to bumper in July. It looked to me as if the little traffic they had was mainly casino traffic. I first went there as a boy in July of 1956 and I have been back many times. This is the first time I have ever seen it not jam packed in summer.
I’m in Washington state .... outside Seattle ...
I was in Branson, MO ... now that’s a town ....
no, the speaker of the house here was trying to get Harrah’s in bed with the Narragansett tribe to openm a casino in west warwick, but that was voted down in 2006, I think. Twin Rivers is the former Lincoln Park dog track and is unaffiliated with any tribe to the best of my knowledge...
