US military leader: China's army still secretive

Admiral Timothy Keating said the closed lines of communication between China and the rest of the world could increase the risk of a serious military incident.

Last month, Adml Keating reached out to China's leaders, offering the prospect of joint military exercises between the US and China. "We are anxious to engage with them at the earliest opportunity," he said. "We want to understand much better than we do now China's intentions".

"We're watching them," said Adml Keating. "We're paying close attention. But I don't view China as a threat. We don't want them to view us as a threat."

Don't worry. At the first sign of the slightest bit of bother, Obama will immediately apologize for everything noble that he had nothing to do with, take credit for being personally wonderful enough to say so, and give away something that isn't his to people who wish we'd all just die already.

My point was in a back door way is we are just as secretive if not more than they are.

What a dolt.

Of course they are secretive. No one in the China military knows what the command order is. This is a feature of undemocratic, yet highly political structures. No one cans speak authoritatively because no one is legitimately in charge.

“We're watching them when we invite them over for visits on our ships,” said Adml Keating. “We're paying close attention to which makes of cameras they are using for which secret area they are photographing. But of course, I don't view China as a threat! We don't want them to view us as a threat which is why we continually invite them onboard our newest vessels, go over our communications systems and orders of battle. They are particularly interested in upgrading their Aegis systems they borrowed from us to the same capabilities as our destroyers.”
