Democrats should be bitter that President Obama failed to secure the Olympic Games for the City of Chicago as major donors in the Unions and ACORN will be lacking the millions of dollars in donations that would come from the Olympic Projects.
If Obama along with Mayor Daley had in fact secured the games, the deconstruction and construction of the Waterfront and Olympic Village would have put millions if not billions of dollars in the back pocket of Union Only Labor, who would ensured the projects would be riddled with cost overruns(remember Boston's Big Dig Project)
Social Groups like ACORN would have got millions, if not billions of dollars to help so-called displaced low income homeowners and businesses, who in reality would be encouraged by ACORN Members to holding out for the best offers on their homes and businesses and driving up the cost of the project.
With all this money flowing with the help of Democrats in Congress and the White House, the unions and ACORN like groups would have redirected that money back to the party and their approved candidates running in the 10,12, 14 and 16 races.
When it was proven that Daley and Michelle Obama could not close out the final deal last week, Barrack Obama took personal charge in the appeal because donations to the Democrat Party for 2010 are on shaky ground and national angry toward Democrat Policies is growing.
If Chicago had secured the games, it would have resulted in a bigger mess and more generational debt than the failed Stimulus Package.
Who is to say that they still won’t spend billions on these criminals? They just lost their easy excuse, now they have to use a more difficult excuse.

While Rush felt he must have had it sewn up to actually travel there (an understanable sentiment), I think people are starting to realize that these people are truly delusional. I keep hearing about his personal popularity, and the same for his wife, but I hear too many people who actually voted for the guy that are truly disappointed. We won’t know for sure until the mid-term election looms (remember BJ Clinton in his second term, when many Dems politely declined when he offered to campaign for him).

I agree. Obama, more than any recent president I can think of, is intend on rewarding his base as much as he can. He is not yet the President for all of us, governing for all of us, he is still paying off his base.

Pritzer had already cordinated a deal that her hotels would have priority for the olympics labor. Gee, I wonder if her Obama connection had anything to do with that.
To put it in perspective of the money windfall involved for hotel operators, to get a room at a Super 8 hotel in Langley, which is a suburb of Vancouver during next years winter games, your paying 500+ a night minimum, and its a mandatory 2 night agreement. And thats a Super 8. The downtown Vancouver hotels are charging 2000+ for the same thing. There was still going to be shortages, so cruise lines are parking their largest ships at the port of Vancouver to act as temporary hotels, and last time I checked, its 1800+ per person for two nights for the smallest of the rooms available on these ships. Imagine what the rate Pritzers Hyatt hotels would be charging around Chicago during the games?
They are also using Rio to wagthedog and hide the fact that today the labor deptmt released the worst unemplyment figures in nearly 3 decades. Official unemployment is at 9.8%; and real unemployment nears 17%.
Hiding that horrendous job loss news is the reason Obama went to Copenhagen.

But of course - the one thing we do know is that it wasn’t out of patriotism since that is a foreign concept.
I heard that Maggie and Rich Daley were living close by at the time Meigs was shut down and they didn’t like the noise from the planes. It’s a park, occasionally there are concerts held there. I found it shocking that they went in in the middle of the night and dug it up. I guess there weren’t enough Chicagoans who were outraged by this overreach of power—Daley keeps getting re-elected.
You forget that theOne has been on an apology tour, even bowing down to Arabs. During his campaign he promised the world would “like” us again with him as president. How the heck does he explain this?

My wife and I feel like it is Christmas. I was hoping Chicago would lose, but when they got steamrolled in the first round I was speechless. So many political crooks were counting on billions of money to pass among themselves. The world at least know who our fearless leader is a JOKE!
