It goes without saying the Obama-loving media will be in full damage control mode this weekend trying to spin Friday's announcement that Chicago will not be the host of the 2016 Olympics, but this one has to take the cake:
Losing the Olympics Bid Is Good for Obama
I agree and could easily believe was known. Obama does not want all his Chicago homies coming out of the woodwork with corrupt deals on his watch.
But ultimately, its a good thing for him. As I wrote on Monday, the Olympics are notorious for running massively over budget. The organizing committees are always rife with infighting and power games as all manner of colorful cronies badger members to get their paws on some of those coveted Olympics dollars. Public support for the Olympics in Chicago itself was already lukewarm. Residents would have been facing seven years of disruptive construction and roadwork as their city raced to prepare itself. Its a recipe for serious disgruntlement.
Obama would have been inextricably tied to all of thisthe budget overruns, the construction hiccups, the predictable corruption. By going to Copenhagen, he became the public face of the effort. Already, some of his closest supporters and friends were on the bid committee: his campaigns national finance chair Penny Pritzker and a co-chair of his inaugural committee, Patrick Ryan, both had key roles. Senior adviser David Axelrods communications firm, AKPD Media, was one of the contractors for the committee, and Obama confidant Valerie Jarrett had been involved in supporting the bid. When problems would start to arise in the planning of this mammoth eventand they invariably would haveObama would be implicated, regardless of his actual involvement.
I sure wish you would LEARN how to post so we wouldn’t have to see the complete web link, it is tacky.
Blame it on Axelrod!
Because his former PR firm did all the work and was paid millions for the project of presenting Chicagos bid.
Follow the money trail!
This needs to be investigated.
Four of the five co-chairs of Obamasinaugural committee continue to have unpaid leadership roles in Chicago 2016, including Pat Ryan, the chairman and CEO of Chicago 2016; John Rodgers, the treasurer and director of Chicago 2016; Bill Daley, the former Clinton administration commerce secretary and brother of the Chicago mayor; and Penny Pritzker, the Chicago businesswoman and Hyatt hotel heiress who led Obamas meteoric presidential campaign fundraising.
Pritzkers family also owns or manages a handful of hotels singled out by Chicago 2016 as accommodations for Olympic workers, press and family members.
Ryan and Priztker each contributed $100,000 or more to Chicago 2016, as did White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers, an Obama family friend, who also served on the Chicago committee. It still counts Obama confidant and vacation companion Eric Whitaker among its members. Jarrett was replaced as vice chair by Martin Nesbitt, the treasurer of Obamas campaign and another Obama family insider.
ASK Public Strategies, the Chicago-based corporate public relations company founded by Obama political guru David Axelrod and owned and run by some of Obamas top presidential campaign consultants, was paid in the tens of thousands of dollars by Chicago 2016 to do communication management [and] communication planning, said former Axelrod partner Eric Sedler, who did not work for the Obama campaign but is in Copenhagen, along with Pritzker and Jarrett.
ASK has worked on the bid for three years and for two thirds of that time our work has been pro bono, said Sedler, who would not speculate on whether the company would be in line for more Olympic work if the IOC picks Chicago.

Don't worry this is good for America. We are trying to get to 20% unemployment numbers and we cannot do this unless we continue to lose jobs and the Olympics does not help. Everything is under control.
When a lapdog media Commie says it’s good for Obama, you know it is realy, really, really, REALLY BAD for him.
You know that is a great post. No wonder Axelrod looked like someone had kicked him in the stomach this afternoon. That Pritzker woman is as corrupt as they come.
Newsweak. What a pathetic excuse for journalism.
This too:
Airplane crashes save wear on landing gear!
Funny, Beck just was saying the same thing the other day, and he's crazy.
None of what he says changes the plain fact that Barry went to Copenhagen, oiled his smarmy way around the IOC, and took it for granted for that his media-granted “charisma” would just charm them into begging him to have the Olympics in Chicago. Barry and He-shelle went there, they wanted it, and they plainly and unmistakeably FAILED to get what they went after. Whether it would’ve been god or bad is beside the point. Barry wanted this, Barry arrogantly thought he couldn’t be refused, and Barry was WRONG. LOL.
“ABCs de Nies Swears: Michelle Obamas Work Is Done With Emotional Olympic Appeal”
Yup. The media will be in full mode portraying Obama`s failure to get the Olympics as a huge success.
It’s a she. And yes, you are right. This pig isn’t going to hold still so the lipstick can be applied.
“World repudiates Obama” is the correct headline
>> Newsweak. What a pathetic excuse for journalism.
Have you noticed? Since Bambi got elected, Oprah got a lot fatter... and Newsweak got a lot thinner!
That’s both fair, and balanced.
Screening for terrorists would have been a nightmare.
You guessed it President Bush!
He was claiming that President Bush had damaged our standing in the world so badly that despite Obama's "heroic efforts" there was still too much anti-American sentiment left over from the Bush years for Chicago to win.
>> Simply amazingly self-deluded? Or a world-class suckup? You decide
It’s not an either/or thing. I vote both!
Common story, actually: you get really invested in something, and you can’t let go. The MSM, and particularly Newsweek, is deeply invested in Bambi.
They have a hard time selling even after his stock falls and he stops paying dividends.
Yes, she’s trying to cover for Obama but, she has a point here. The Olympics in Chicago would have been a corruption fest the likes of which we have never seen in this country and it would have been as blatant and obvious as the noon-day sun. It would have been a total disaster for Obama and the Democrats. So, she’s right, but for the wrong reason.
He is correct, and I assume it is accurate that he wrote this on Monday, if so, it was good advice.
It seems to me that the biggest losers are Bam’s ego and a clear exposure of his lack of political judgment. Why would he go over there and make the case without knowing it was in the bag? What a fool.
schu
hmmm...snicker...hmmhmmhmmhm.....BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
I imagine next to come the media will accuse the committee of racism for turning Obama down.
A good trial lawyer doesn't ask a question unless he already knows what the answer is.
Well then, coming in fourth out of a four horse race must REALLY be great news for him.
TeeHee

We are actually very happy to see Rio get the Olympics. Everybody is happy except this guy behind me with the white hair. (We're going to blame him for losing)
I actually have to agree with Katie Connolly here.
Barack 0bama and his cronies cannot be trusted to not gorge themselves on corruption and graft. They would have been powerless to resist their own crooked nature and it would have inevitably lead to many scandals for 0bama, forcing the media to work overtime dismissing and covering them up.
I think the news media is breathing a collective sigh of relief.
Correction: alleged journalism.
Read the article at Newsweek’s web site and then look at the comments under the article. There are some real gems there.
She is eassentially saying that 0bama needs to be protected from himself. He cannot control his own corruption, nor can his cronies.
Do you disagree?
So, does that mean that if Chicago had been awarded the Olympics, Newsweek would have said that was a bad thing for Obama? I wonder why the three O’s put so much effort into this if it was such a bad thing for him to achieve?
Oops, I’m sorry, that sounds like I may have been thinking too much for myself, instead of mindlessly lapping up the vomit spewed by the old guard media. The old guard liberal propaganda organs are still clinging to life way to tenaciously to suit me.
Looks like MO`s “great sacrifice” came to nothing. lol

YOU LIE!
But what a great marketing firm!
I agree, except he is already implicated in it. As GFWB would said, “Deep doo-doo.” Not as much of this would ever have come to light if he hadn’t decided to fly over there and grandstand.
What? Good for him? Among the five most stupid statements of the week. Such a waste of taxpayer money and also environmental damage what with President Obama and the wife taking SEPARATE planes.
I think the IOC knew how massive the corruption was going to be and not awarding the Olympics to Chicago was their way of saying that they should have ponied up a lot more dinero than they offered.
It seems to me that the liberal/progressives especially in the MSM are like the family in the Twilight Zone episode the kid with the power. “That was good , Obama. Real good that you lost the Olympic bid”. Are they afraid Obama is going to wish them into the corn field?
“Axelrod: We got robbed on Olympics because of politics”
http://hotair.com/archives/2009/10/02/axelrod-we-got-robbed-on-olympics-because-of-politics/
“CNN expert: Actually, Chicagos Olympics bid was almost unwinnable
“Comedy gold: CNN anchor in utter disbelief as Chicago is eliminated”
Starting immediately, preparations would begin for the olympics. Real estate bought and sold. All finances, for the most part, would be done within the next two to three years. Obama had MUCH to loose if his homies started to work the Chicago mafia crap before his next election attempt. I think he knew what was happening and put on a good show.
“War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength.”
Good analogy!
frankly i found the whole spectacle of Machete Machelle ,Okra and Val Jerk-0ff a total embarrassment to our nation.
call me old-fashioned? naahhhhh.... the bamster is incapable of delegating this type of international business and takes it UPON HIMSELF and his cronies to personally dabble in areas where HE’S NOT NEEDED NOR WANTED. It’s still all about him and the ego .
Wow~~ an exercise in narcissistic futility.
Bammy still does`nt get it. The world only likes him when he`s on one of his apology tours. When he asks the world for something, he`s told to go suck eggs.
I'm sure the Media would be of the opinion than even mentioning that would be UnAmerican, and castigate those who did.
“Wow~~ an exercise in narcissistic futility.”
Yup. Exactly.
