Chicago Out For 2016 Olympics -- Senator Rowland Burris Blames Bush [this is NOT Scrappleface!]

Senator Rowland Burris of Illinois, the Senator who was appointed to fill President Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat, blames George Bush for Chicago not getting the Olympics in 2016. Burris stated in an interview, shortly after the announcement, that the image of the U. S. has been so tarnished in the last 8 years that, even Barack Obama making an unprecedented pitch for the games could not overcome the hatred the world has for us as a result of George Bush.

You think the decision might be because Chicago is on the news every night with gang murders?

Chicago is a filthy city & it would have cost the taxpayers millions to clean it up for the Olympics.

I'm thrilled Chicago did not get it, our taxes are going to go up anyway, due to EX GOV. BLAGO!

But, of course, some Chicago crook has to find a way to blame it on Bush!

Maybe Olympic officiela bought the “O” hype about how backward, arrogant, dismissive we are. “O” said that we are knuckle-scraping Neanderthals and loud-mouth jingoistic, genetic throwbacks, who are pathologically attached to our guns and bibles over here in this s&^% hole called ‘America.’

After all ... “O” DID do a world tour blathering on with JUST these preposterous and groveling toady lies to any one who would listen.

So now, whose fault is it if he did such a good job convincing them!!??

Did he REALLY say this? If so ... man, these stupid Democrats are so predictable. I was reading in an earlier thread where a Freeper was saying, with sarcasm, “It’s Bush’s fault!” Then another Freeper said, “How long will it take for someone to blame Bush?” Well, here’s our answer ... about 45 minutes or so! Oh, it was also a racist vote by the IOC. Let’s just go ahead and say it. How long will it take Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton to say that it was racist? Huh? Huh? The clock is ticking ...

Chicago’s a filthy city? Chicago’s political climate is a huge problem but I certainly wouldn’t call it a filthy city. I think it’s really a beautiful city, at least inside the loop.

I wonder if it ever occurred to anyone in the Obama administration that those who have the power to award the Olympics might just resent him coming over and trying to influence their decision? This occurred to me when I first heard he was flying over. I can recall thinking that if I was even considering Chicago I would have second thoughts if pressured by Obama and his entourage of stars.

I've never heard of anyone so foolish as to put the prestige of the presidency on the line for something as trivial as the Olympics. Yes I said it. The Olympics aren't all THAT important.

Roland lost my respect when his protestations that he did not engage in quid pro quo to garner Obama’s senate seat were revealed to be not worth the hot air with which he inflated them. I guess when a man builds himself a burial shrine fit for an Olympian (complete with room for the inscription ‘Senator’), he is willing to ‘pay to play’ in the big leagues.

A typical comment from a "news" site. This one from Yahoo "news."

"he [sic] failure to bring the Olympics to Chicago has nothing to do with President Obama and everything to do with how the dumb azz "W" administration screwed the world. We are going to be paying for his failed administration for many years to come."

Allow me to confess...I am very upset at the unbounded JOY I felt the moment I heard the IOC had rejected the Olympic bid of that sewer of a city, Chicago. The prospect of the unbridled corruption that would have been Chicago’s gift to the world was scary. We have enough to be worried about.
The CHOICE of other American cities in the past have filled me with pride. The rejection of this one fills me with relief. That is a sad confession to make.

That is a still from a videotape of a murder, believe it or not. A high school kid was beaten to death in a gang attack in Chicago last week, and somebody passing through videotaped what happened. The “yoot” in the video is about to take that 2x4 and whack the victim in the head with it, knocking him down. Later on, a bunch of other “yoots” come over and take turns kicking and punching him, leaving him unconscious on the pavement before they run off down the street in search of other victims.
