Sen. John McCain ought to be pretty nervous about the revelations to come in Sarah Palin's upcoming memoir.
The million-dollar question:
How far will Palin go in blasting not just McCain's staff -- which everyone expects, given how badly it treated Palin -- but the presidential candidate himself?
Palin could have plenty of campaign-trail stories to tell about McCain. And this is actually the kind of inside politics that could be interesting for the general public to see.
Did McCain try to get Palin to back off being the main spokeswoman for the ticket, especially after the vice presidential pick re-energized the party in late summer of 2008?
How much did McCain and his staff control what Palin said in her speeches and, if so, what parts did he want her to go soft on?
And how did McCain treat Palin in private after all her nationally televised gaffes -- like a running mate or like someone who wasn't really qualified to be vice president?(continued)

Ever notice how Muslims almost always become Democrats when the arrive here? Hmmmmm...
I can’t wait to see Sarah on the morning TV talk shows when they invite her on to talk about her best seller. It’ll be just like when they had Mark Levin on.
I’m gonna go ahead and DVR that.
>>> Ever notice how Muslims almost always become Democrats when the arrive here? Hmmmmm... <<<<
Indians too.
Muslims used to be predominantly republicans, back before CAIR and the radicalization by the wahabis.
And FWIW, I seriously doubt Palin will be dumping on Mccain. He has been gracious to her the entire time.
Betcha Sarah won’t say one thing bad about McCain.
Not her style. Hope she blows the lid off the political aide system in politics that is dragging our nation into the toilet. Those mercenaries run the country. Nancy Pelosi even sends them to the security meetings in her stead...unelected “aides” do all the work we elected represenatives to do.
“I cant wait to see Sarah on the morning TV talk shows”
I agree. The only thing is that I wish she had a better subtitle to her book. There’s nothing better than listening to someone like Matt Lauer have to read the title of your book on-air - like he did for Michelle Malkin.
HA! Priceless
“Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies”
I know, tongue in cheek. But you can be sure they’ll talk about the book, with her absent. It’s the classic elitist drive-by method. If I were her, I would TOTALLY diss the MSM, regardless of what the publishers tell her or require of her. IT HAS ALREADY SOLD TONS! AND IT’S NOT EVEN OUT YET!
She’ll get better publicity by having MSNBC, Andrea Mitchell, The View, and all the other snarky a-holes out there beating up on it.
I hope she names NAMES! Those bastards wanted her RUINED! RINO pukes.
McCain's staff didn't screw her over in vaccuum - unless, on top of being a RINO, he's a doddering, clueless fool as well.
I guess I just answered my own question, didn't I?
or like someone who wasn’t really qualified to be vice president?(continued)

These guys are afraid of her.
The same type of fools said the same about Reagan.
What you did there, I see it.....
Amnesty Juan McCain sickens me.
Maybe Joe the Plumber will pipe up — met with McCain and Joe trashed him.
re: after all her nationally televised gaffes
Typical hit tactic. Report they happened, but don’t give any specifics, just treat it like everyone knows it’s so.
I don’t recall any such gaffes. A couple of answers she gave didn’t make the questioner look to good and they spun her answers to she didn’t respond or responded poorly.
Uh, Yael is orthodox Jewish.
“Betcha Sarah wont say one thing bad about McCain.”
I agree. Sarah seems to personnel hold McCain in a very high regard; I don’t think she’ll bash him either. As for Steve Schmidt, though...
personnel=personally
Having said all of what I said in my last post, I would have to add that I don’t believe McCain will get anything other than fair treatment from Palin. I for one will NEVER forget the look on her face onstage for the concession speech. It seemed to reflect my feeling that she was the ONLY thing that got McCain the votes he thought he deserved, and that she was ruthlessly manipulated and sacrificed by him, just to accomplish that goal. The look on her face told me that this realization had just dawned on her.
The Left, the Dems, and Obama, couldn’t have found any better way to destroy Sarah Palin than McCain did. Once McCain is through with you, as with Sarah, and Joe the Plumber, he goes right back to reaching across the aisle and serving as the Democrat’s Hit Man. He EMBODIES what has been wrong with the Republic Party since at least as long as he’s been a part of it.
So how to explain the Mccain staffers that defended here against the other staffers?
My bad, then, as the kids say. I've just been noticing a ton of Islamic-sounding names for reporters on the major networks, newspapers, newsweeklies, etc. Have you seen it, too?
Not to worry. We already know the truth about McCain and don’t need Sarah to tell us he’s a backstabbing traitor.
Just look at how he friended Kerry at the expense of the POWs in Viet Nam.
I bet Sarah doesn’t waste her time bashing McLoser...
Palin had better distance herself from McCain as much as possibile, especially on the issues of amnesty and cap and trade, which she defended during the campaign. McCain is poison to Palin's future political ambitions.
I wonder how gracious McCain was to her during the campaign. And the post election utterances by McCain have been damning Palin with faint praise.
“...unelected aides do all the work...”
What precious little work actually gets done. The elected pols are way too busy making backroom promises, raising money, glad-handing, and enjoying opulent meals and travel to do anything as mundane as reading some boring bill.
I am very tired of this “not his/her style” of protecting stupidity.
McCain did not “get it” with Joe the Plumber and did not want to use it.
McCain’s containment crew were trying to “beltway” palin.
If he is holding back just to be nice, then she needs to clear the field.
I don’t see any dumping on McCain either, particularly if she has Presidential ambitions. The whole guise is probably just silly ruse to sell books.
Personally, I predict the book to be a boring read.
I don't think it makes much logical sense to assume they were acting at McCain's direction. There's plenty to be upset at McCain over, but he's been pretty protective of Palin - much more so than other failed presidential aspirants have been of their losing ticket-mates.
The McCain crew was trying to salvage want couldn't' be salvaged, which was their own political careers. But, McCain knew it was the end of the road for him. He didn't then, nor does he now have any motivation to pillory the person he chose to join him on his ticket. McCains team was doing then, what they continue to do today blameing someone else for their own incompetence, shortcomings and failings, which made for most poorly managed campaign in 40 or more years even worse than Dole in 96.
“Betcha Sarah wont say one thing bad about McCain.”
I think she will say she’s disappointed he stood in silence while his campaign members and the left trashed her.

Why would Palin go on TV to hawk her book? She only raises their ratings while they attack her. Palin is already proving that she doesn’t need them to get her message out.
Does the book have a centerfold?
The 11th Commandment.
Not really. He has been slow to defend her and his mediocre defense (when it finally came) was faint, indeed.
Almost every political autobiography is, and for a number of reasons - not the least of which is the subjects rarely actually author the books themselves. And, it's even more unlikely for there to be any candor or absence of political calculation in the book, especially if the subjects consider themselves to be viable political contenders in future campaigns, and they almost always do.
I rarely agree with Bob Woodward, but I heard him comment recently that he believes Bush's autobiography will be a fascinating and worthwhile read. Bush has nothing to lose, no one to please but himself, and all the motivation in the world to stand up and give a huge middle-finger salute to the media establishment. It could be great.
I cant wait to see Sarah on the morning TV talk shows when they invite her on to talk about her best seller. Itll be just like when they had Mark Levin on.
Im gonna go ahead and DVR that.
Ummm...I don’t think he was ever on those shows.
Or is that your point? LOL! /s
She's much too classy for that.
Joe Biden was the one with all the gaffes, although Obama had more than his share, too. The media ignored their gaffes.

my bet sarah will no bash mccain maybe some policies but not the man she is way too classy to do so. i hope she does but she wont
Most likely, Sarah will be gracious and not be derogatory, however, in her own eloquent way, she will communicate the disgust we all know she felt as to her treatment by the McQueeg staff.
She’ll go after the system. McCain’s just a symptom.
“Why would Palin go on TV to hawk her book?”
Good question. She doesn’t need them as much as the MSM need her. Why bother, unless she can get the interviewers riled. I still wouldn’t watch any of those stations if she was on.
Sarah hasn’t broken Reagan’s commandment yet, so nobody should expect her to slam McCain. Hope she gives Nicole Wallace and Mike Murphy both barrels, though.
- JP
Palin will not fall into the going on TV to hawk her book the way most people do, she’ll do something completely out of the box, like let the all the media hype drive up sales. I always think it’s embarrassing to see someone like Dick Morris, and O’Rilley shamelessly promoting their book every 2nd sentence, kind of demeaning. Doing book signings would be difficult as well. Imagine her going to some bookstore for a 2 hour session, and ten thousand people show up, all expecting to get their book signed. It would be pretty chaotic, and security would be a big problem.
Exactly. By exposing the failure of the system will expose mccain by association. Sarah will not name mccain specifically but the point will be made.
She's going rogue...and I love her!
I wouldn’t say that withholding negative comments while not saying anything good is exactly being gracious... But in politics that may be the norm these days.
I’m hoping that she goes well beyond the “good ole boy” network and tells it like it really is...and yes, that means that the ole boy McCain is vulnerable...
If she granted (yes “granted” — as in “bestowing a privilege”) interviews with local and regional media outlets, in conjunction with her book tour; that would get her messages out. The small-market shows would be delighted to have her on & the snub to the national networks would leave a mark.
