A senior Government source said: "If we get a 'Yes' vote it will all move very, very quickly. Tony could be named by the end of October."
The leaders of the EU's 27 nations, not the voters, will choose the president.

So will obama be named the president of the Americas?
I have always felt Tony Blair was a good candidate for being the anti-christ.
Does that mean Obama can’t be President of the world anymore? He’s gonna be really disappointed!
but I could think of worse...he is a defender of freedom, doesn't cowtow to islamics and was a good ally in the war on terror.
Personally I expect to see moves to merge US with EU
Come on Ireland, throw that monkey wrench into the machine! :)
I agree since after all, we are actually controlled by the UK and the Queen ... little slight of hand been going on since 1776.
Tony 666 Blair
If by “controlled by The Queen” you mean Barney Frank then I have to agree, albeit with a shudder.
Blair as the anti-Christ? He has about as much charisma as a dryer sheet.
Revelation 17:
9”This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. 10They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while. 11The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.
12”The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. 14They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kingsand with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”
Not so good to have Blair in there during a deep recession though.
Tony Blair already made war against Christians in Kosovo and Bosnia (”They will make war against the Lamb”) on behalf of Muslims.
“but I could think of worse...he is a defender of freedom, doesn’t cowtow to islamics and was a good ally in the war on terror. “
He supported the US. His domestic policies and policies enacted during his tenure more or less resembled an effort to integrate the novels Brave New World and 1984 into existence in the UK.
Not sure how his approach to muslims living in the UK was, or how it will be for the equally big problem of those living in the western EU.
Roman empire on the rise again?
Those are no longer nations. They are provinces. They are simply biding time until the Caliphate is installed.
Isn’t he the reason they have 5 million cameras watching people, thugs wear hoodies and stabbings are out of control as people steal cell phones and break into homes because they know the residents are unarmed. Meanwhile the cops are relunctant to take complaints when you call them, might look bad in their stats.
Yes, that is the Tony Blair that is so popular here on FR.
He stood with the US on the invasions of Afgh. and Iraq in a way that we may not see the UK do again, given how politics are going here and there. That is the ONLY thing I can say good about him.

BTW what you describe is part of what I have seen called ‘anarcho-tyranny,’ where the state actively harasses subjects for minor issues or any self-defense, while letting serious crime and criminals run fairly uncontrolled.
Something like throwing a homeless man in prison for failure to pay child support (debtors prison) while women who murder their kids are let off easy for “post-partum depression”??
“”One of the bases will be located in Bahia Pina...450 kilometers [280 miles] east of the capital, Panama City, and another one - in Punta Coca about 350 km [217 miles] west of the capital,””
wow these guys are going to be far far from any urban reality.
I kept thinking Howard might be re-leased by USAF with the imminent closing of Manta, but there is considerable civilian construction there now (a huge terminal facility, for one thing) and I guess it is going to be civilian-only. The flight-line and the main area of the base (including associated housing behind the tdy qtrs/church) has been mostly unused since turnover.
wow wrong thread, no idea how...apologies.
