Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) mocked Republicans Wednesday who demanded he apologize for saying that they want people who get sick to "die quickly."
"I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven't voted sooner to end this holocaust in America," Grayson said on the House floor.
The "holocaust," he said, was the 44,789 people who die each year in the United States each year because they don't have health insurance, citing a Harvard study.
Republicans said Democratic leaders should force Grayson to apologize.
“Alan Grayson not only refuses to apologize, he is doubling down on his despicable remarks and he is dragging his party with him," said Ken Spain, spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee. "This is an individual who has established a pathological pattern of unstable behavior. Now, more than ever, Speaker Pelosi should end her silence and demand an apology."
Just before he went on the House floor Grayson had told reporters he wouldn't apologize and hadn't been asked to do so by any Democratic leaders. Earlier in the day, though, House Democratic Caucus Chairman John Larson (D-Conn.) had said he "would encourage" Grayson to apologize.
"I didn't violate the rules of the House. I didn't do anything inappropriate," Grayson (D-Fla.) told reporters Wednesday afternoon. "I don't feel any pressure at all."
Grayson has been targeted by Republicans in next year's election, but he said he doesn't think the attention his remarks have brought will hurt him.
"People like politicians who have guts," Grayson said.
Grayson (D-Fla.) said on the floor Tuesday night that "if you get sick, America, the Republican healthcare plan is this: Die quickly."

Grayson is quoting a bogus study Rush de-bunked last week that took uninsured people who died (for any reason) in a 10-year period.
It was a garbage study and more Liberal paranoia to control our lives.
The LEFT wants people to die quickly. Obama voted to continue letting babies born alive die of neglect in hospital closets in Illinois.
And the rationing of medical care is likewise Leftist. “It isn’t a quality life.”
Same with euthenasia.

Whether you have health insurance or not any emergency room in any hospital in any American city is REQUIRED to give you medical treatment.

This guy, Alan Grayson, is just an idiot. Government intrusion never works out in the end for the citizen - it only further empowers government. But, we conservatives keep losing ground, so what’s to be done?
You gotta admit that at least the libs are willing to fight - the GOP are a bunch of sissy boys who couldnt fight their way out of paper sack and crumble to apologize over and over again if they offended someone.
