It's all about power and privilege - theirs.
The socialist house of cards is falling. There are too many dependant grasshoppers to feed. The democrat base is demanding more cheese, and the socialists have to find a way, any way, to get it for them.
No cheese - no voters - no more limos, private jets, mansions, Delmonico steaks, or fine wines for the left wing politicians.

Well that is what I was thinking. Heck, make it a national campaign theme for the GOP congressional ballot; “Elect us and we will undo all the socialism.”

They might amend this bill to ram a public-option health care plan through. That was one of Reed’s plans.
