Today in Dubai thousands of young girls are arriving as treats for Arab men who await the end of Ramadan and the month-long restrictions on their sexual activities. More will arrive tomorrow.

The girls, according to Mumbai reporter J. Dey, have been told they are being taken to dance in bars, but it is implicit that they will double up as prostitutes for well-paying clients. Another 1,000 will leave by tomorrow.

Dubai sources confirm there has been an approximate 20 per cent rise in the trafficking of minors over the last year.

The minors from India and places throughout the Middle East travel on forged documents that list them as adults. Their travel visas, according to a senior officer from Special Branch 1, state that the stated purpose of their trip to the tiny Arab country is “to visit relatives.”

This probably not going to be popular but the majority of these girls will be dancing for the Hindu Indian population.

We have a serious problem with underage/forced prostitution in this country. There are tons of women being held in what amounts to literal slavery. Fearing for their lives if they try to escape.

The mayor of SF (of all places) has tried to focus on this in SF. Saying it is widespread. The problem is people won’t belieive him. They say this can’t be as bad as he says it is. Maybe an isolated case here and there, but not common.

We need to clean up our own house on this one. If anything good comes from the ACORN tapes, I hope it is a new awareness of just how common this is.

Nobody deserves to be treated this way.
