Hello again FRiends. I've asked for prayer twice before when taking the LSAT. Let's hope thrice pays for all, because after taking a prep course for the past two months, I am taking the LSAT (law school admissions test) one final time, tomorrow morning. For those who don't know, it's a rather intense five-hour test unlike any other admission test such as the ACT or MCAT.
I got a reasonable score before, and enough to get into some of the law schools I wanted, but I'm retaking to try for something higher.
Your prayers are very much appreciated, and thank you!
No, we even hate lawyers when we do need them.
Good luck! You can do it!
If you don’t know the answer - go with answer “C”
If you score lower this time, do you get to keep the previous run?
No anti-lawyer joke here..good luck on the test
HOWEVER, in keeping with Obama’s “share the wealth”, I fully expect 25% of your earnings to hit my bank account once you hit the big time..:)
No, we hate em even more when we need them. ;-)
As you sit down, take a very deep breath and remind yourself that you know the answers or know how to figure out the answers. Let your mind relax. That’s my formula for doing well on important tests.
We will send up prayers for you, too.
If you are a “protected person” as defined by the law you can bomb the test and still be admitted to the college of your choice via affirmative action.
Wasting time. Get in school already.
turn back while there is still time.
be a court reporter.
And, if you are studying tonight:
STOP!
NOW!
It only adds clutter!
(Good luck)
Get up early and go get a good breakfast. It’s nice to be waited on while mulling over the events to pass.
But, please don't get corrupted in law school (living Constitution bologna and all that)
And, don't become an indentured servant to a bunch of loans...
And...oh, nevermind.
The best to you, really!
Good luck! Relax and you will be fine. The law school tier ratings are overblown IMHO. Whatever school you go to, the grades will be what really counts in job hunting. That, and networking. Make lots of friends. Just like with anything else, it’s all in who you know.
Relax and know you know the test... the test is tough, but don’t let the test stop you from obtaining your goals.
Most of all, Trust in the Lord always...do remember the Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit will guide us, teach us all things and bring all things to remembrance.
Be Blessed
Bad advice; it might be a true/false question. Go with all "B"'s if you have to fill in blanks at the end of the test. I am a former Kaplan instructor so trust me on this.
And for God's sake be something honest like a tax or patent lawyer. The very last thing this country needs is another hungry plaintiff's attorney. Good luck!
Dave, norton’s right ... quit studying. You will only make yourself more tense (and crazy) if you continue to study till you take the test. Relax, watch something stupid on tv, read a trashy novel, but don’t study any more.
You are ready. Accept that fact, and go forward rested and relaxed.
We’re all pulling for you. We may hate lawyers (and I am married to one) but we DO need them, if nothing else to fight off those lawyers who are trying to take our liberties away, case by case.
Relax. Read the questions carefully. If you have done this before, you know it is survivable.
parsy, who knows
And then they despise them.
Godspeed. Maybe you'll be one of the useful ones.
As the others have said, stop studying and relax for the evening.
Look at it this way, the schools are taking the highest score now instead of the average, as they used to do in my day. You have scored well enough to get in already, so this one’s just a swing-for-the-fences situation. Relaaaaaax, you are ready.
Yes. They used to average scores, they don’t anymore.
Prayers up.
Yeah, I know. :-(
LSAT has no true/false questions.
How about a nice solid small-gov politician?
Yep, not studying any today. Thanks!
Prayers that you achieve some good scores. At this point, not worth praying for your studying and preparation - but prayers that the LORD gives you wisdom, clarity of thought, and stamina, while taking this long exam.
And in cases where I don’t know, that He may guide my pencil to the correct guess! I have some Kaplan tricks for guessing now which I hope will help. In the end, it’s all up to Him. I’m just following His calling already anyway.
that’s what is called the “obama method”
Good luck, but this lapsed lawyer says that if you want to go to law school, just go on and go to one that has accepted you.
You’re not a lawyer ‘til you pass the bar. That’s the more important test.
Here’s a really cool story. My son will be taking the LSAT tomorrow at Washington & Lee. He doesn’t attend W&L but he signed up late and W&L was the close site he could register at (over 100 miles away). So he planned on staying overnight tonight and walked around campus late this afternoon.
He found out that Clarence Thomas was speaking at Lee Chapel at 7:30 and it was open to the public. He called about an hour ago to say he sat about 15 feet from Justice Thomas and his speech was awesome, as were his answers to some questions afterward. He was able to shake Justice Thomas’ hand and mentioned he would be taking the LSAT on Saturday. Justice Thomas wished him good luck, and I’m sure the justice would extend that to all taking the test tomorrow.
Good luck to all. You are in my prayers for the next 18 hours.
Good luck! Remember to turn off your headlights so you don’t come out to a dead battery afterward... (voice of experience...MSAT not LSAT tho.)
This slacker kid in my high school chemistry class once filled in all Bs on a test and actually scored higher than me. I was really P.O.d about that for a long time, because I had studied my ass off. Chemistry was just not my thing.
I took the LSAT back when the highest possible score was 50. There are some great prep materials out there, especially for the logic puzzle parts (I guess they still have that). Don’t complete the entire puzzle until you read the questions at the end. Often you only need to know a little bit to answer the questions.
You are right that it is a singularly challenging test.
Prayers Dave.
Sounds like you did the part about “act like everything depends on you”.
Prayers up. (When I took the LSAT and didn’t know an answer, I guessed B.)
Good luck.
