In a one-party state, the party always wins.

That the people of Mass don’t rise up in revolt to this constant changing of the rules to keep one party power is a testament to why we see the continued election of worthless commie scum like Barney Frank, Marty Meehan, John F Fonda Keri and Ted the swimmer Kennedy.

I thought Obama said we were a nation of laws.

Tell me he did not say that! If so, he should win the hypocrite of the year/century award.

The United States of America no longer has an operable Constitution, nor does it conduct itself under the Rule of Law.

Laws are for the lowly peons.

Sadly, the Constitution doesn’t apply in this case, but rather the laws of the state of Massachusetts. Then again, they don’t matter much to liberals, either.

"This fails the Ex Post Facto law in our Constitution."

Probably not. Justice Chase, in Calder v Bull, laid out the four principles that have guided ex post facto decisions ever since. None of those four principles apply here. The law was passed, then Kirk was appointed.

Now, I'm not entirely convinced that Kirk's appointment is allowable under the new statute. I'd like to read this Superior Court judge's decision to see exactly what his reasoning is for denying plaintiff's action.

This is outrageous, and blatantly obvious political interference and corruption of the courts.

Where’s the Rebublican protest and demand for a judicial inquiry?
Where is Romney, the man who supposedly defends principles that shouldn’t be crossed?

Shocking!

Not.

The demonRATS can change the laws at a whim and then claim they aren’t breaking them.

They also want to change the US Constitution in the same way.

Something that would have been unthinkable even 3 years ago - they smell - like blood to a shark..

............”In today’s decision, the judge wrote the GOP did not show it has a “chance to succeed on the merits ...” and any “risk of harm” does not “outweigh risk of harm to the governor and Commonwealth.”————————

So the judge not only agrees is it an “emergency,” he thinks that simply hearing the case will risk harm to the Governor and Commonwealth?

Wow.

And the MA GOP will not appeal - instead asking Liberals in the state - who in their hearts support this move - to “appeal at the ballot box.”

Honestly, Norm Coleman is looking more and more like a superhero to me every day for actually exhausing all possible paths before giving-in.

You know what you’re going to get as a ballot box appeal, MA GOP? 2-4 lost seats........

I agree with the poster above, this is NOT an ex post facto law. From wikipedia but surpisingly accurate: “A law may have an ex post facto effect without being technically ex post facto. For example, when a law repeals a previous law, the repealed legislation no longer applies to the situations it once did, even if such situations arose before the law was repealed.”

Speaking of boycotting, the gov, an obama clone, has told state employees to boycott all Hyatt Hotels.....(Hyatt here in Boston fired a slew of housekeepers and hired other workers at a lower pay rate)
