A federal jury on Thursday rejected a New Orleans family's assertions that the government-issued trailer they lived in after Hurricane Katrina exposed them to dangerous fumes, in the first of several trials that could lead to hundreds of similar claims being resolved.

Bush’s fault...
Kudos to defense counsel.
Congrats also to the jury for not being swept up by emotion — a common problem in our failing civil system.
Sadly, the residents of the FEMA trailers are bottom dwelling tax parasites. They’ve spent their entire lives leaching off others and thought suing a govt agency for causing fumes would be another chance to score a big hit. Thieves spend all day thinking of stealing, let’s not waste our compassion on them.
Wow... so common sense can still prevail from time to time. Maybe there is hope after all.
That's where Obama has visited so terribly many times ~ I suspect the FIX WAS IN on this one.
More proof is going to be needed than a bunch of sensational allegations. The jury rightly concluded that it couldn’t find any smoking gun, any incontrovertible harm done by the alleged formaldehyde contamination.
Obama voters filing suit against taxpayers for the CRIME of having GIVEN THEM FREE TRAILERS!! Won’t someone make me KING for just a day! These ambulance chasing shysters would be responsible for paying the DEFENDANT whatever amount his client was attempting to steal. A quick end to “something for nothing” lawsuits.
These FEMA trailers we’re definitely hazardous, I don’t believe this ruling for a moment, there is no doubt that this plywood from China had dangerous levels in it.
Yeah, but Bush isn’t president anymore.....
Such loose language.
The jury “decided” not “ruled.” Judges “rule.”
The plaintiffs had the opportunity to show the fumes had harmed them. They failed to do so. The jury, not being informed behind the scenes like you, made a fair evaluation of the information placed before it.
If there have been worse situations, then it’s up to plaintiffs to prove it in court. This jury decision doesn’t serve as precedent one way or another.
