Vice President Joe Biden told the nation's governors Thursday that if the $787 billion stimulus fails, "I'm dead."

Biden, who holds regular calls with governors and mayors to chart the progress of the stimulus package, said he was pushing accountability standards purely out of "self-interest."

"If it fails, I'm dead," he said.

About a week ago, discussing the health care bill(s), Obama told an interviewer “I own it”, suggesting he would be held responsible by voters if it was no good. In itself an extraordinary claim—the bill would not take effect until 2013—it revealed Obama’s intense self absorption. We see the same from Biden. Who cares about the country, he suggests, if the stimulus plan continues to sputter, I am in trouble. POTUS and the VP are both narcissistic fools. They deserve one another.
