Nobody forced the bank to make the loan against good practice, either. There aren't any clean hands here.

They have a lot more guns to their head that the debtors do. Things like redlining along with groups like ACORN and they put banks in a corner. This is not just 'in theory'. For example see - Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank Fed. Sav. Bank

What a disgrace. But of course, here is a PERFECT example of a democrat voter: hypocritical, shameless, irresponsible, self-righteous and MORE than willing to steal, cheat and blame others for anything she considers unfair or annoying. Actual Americans have permitted people like these to invade our nation and work to destroy our society. WE are to blame. Not this pathetic piece of sub-human debris.

I know, but the copper brings a good price. Here in SoCal they strip all every bit of copper they can find too.

Actually, it's common in some countries to remove everything down to the barewalls when you move ...

This ain't one of them.

This ain't one of them.

Ditto that!

I hope these people are successfully sued, and that their actions follow them for the NEXT time they try to get a loan.

A good friends father in law owns a disaster recovery business. Normal business was going in after water damage, mold removal, smoke, and the occasional murder scene to remove and clean up the blood and effected areas such as carpet, bed, walls, etc...

He too has gotten a good amount of business coming in after some loser decides to cause great damage to property.

You along with that home squater should be shot!!

Dammit, knock it off, d-r! Everyone who expresses an opinion you think you disagree with, you want "shot." Muawiyah wasn't even saying he supported those kinds of actions, he was just stating his opinion of the state of the applicable law. I'm sick and tired hearing about everyone you want "shot" around here. Get some help with that.

Did you realize that virtually all the bank loan offices who approved these loans have lost their jobs and aren't coming back.

Further, if an application gets a Fannie or Freddie underwriting approval, it is ILLEGAL to then not do the loan.

NBC bringing the news that is YEARS OLD.

This is beyond old news.

Folks this has ALWAYS been the case, it is just that there are so many forclosures.

Today on CNBC they said 7 MILLION homes are in the bank’s shadow inventory. That is up from 1.5 in 2005.

NBC is pathetic.

Yeah.. and people shouldn’t be allowed to replace the tires on their cars without the banks permission, or change the oil too, or.....

This might be called "defining deviancy down". People are learning some bad habits..along with hating "the man". Unfortunately, people think now that paying rent or the mortgage is optional. Their credit is ruined, so they will move into a rental and then stop paying until they are thrown out.

If it was in the house and added value to the house to make it the sales price at which you bought the house then it belongs in the house.

If you remove it then you devalue the property.

When listing a home for sale you must state what does not convey - like “Light fixture in dining room does not convey” or you run the risk of getting into a fight with the buyer.

I’ve been buying foreclosed houses since 2004. Its not new.

In fact, its not uncommon for them to totally trash the place. Plug the drains, turn on the water and walk.

Gosh, and you wonder how such nice people can be down on their luck.

You would think that this would, in some way, be illegal and punishable through the courts.

The bank can sue, and if it happens after the foreclosure is final it is theft.

The “fixtures” aren’t really “fixtures” if they can be removed that easily.

Anything screwed or nailed in place is a fixture under the law. This is criminal theft, pure and simple.

that is common in evictions. It has become more common as people see the entertainment value of causing suffering. (think little brats who torture puppies and kittens)

people forget these are the OWNERS of the house. The bank has a lien only. Until title changes hands the OWNER is entitled to sell parts of their house.
