UNITED NATIONS (AFP) France on Wednesday led a walkout of a dozen delegations, including the United States, to protest a fiery speech by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the UN General Assembly.
"It is disappointing that Mr Ahmadinejad has once again chosen to espouse hateful, offensive and anti-Semitic rhetoric," Mark Kornblau, spokesman to the US mission to the United Nations, said in a statement.
Delegations from Argentina, Australia, Britain, Costa Rica, Denmark, France Germany, Hungary, Italy, New Zealand and the United States left the room as Ahmadinejad began to rail against Israel, a European source said.
Israel had already called for a boycott of the speech, and was not present when the Iranian leader began his address. Canada had already said it would heed the boycott call.
In his address, Ahmadinejad again took aim at Israel without mentioning the country or Jews by name, referring only to the "Zionist regime."
The firebrand leader, re-elected in disputed June elections, accused Israel of "inhumane policies in Palestine."

Looks like Ahmajihad needs one of those Beer With Barry “teachable moments”.

Wow. Color me surprised.

It should make him feel right at home, having protesters outside. :-)

And Obama called the Israeli settlements on Israeli land "illegitimate." I suspect Hussein-O and Achmanutjob are closer on the question of Israel than many think.

If they had walked out during Obama’s speech, we would be getting somewhere.
Good to see anyone demonstrate against him.
I still go back to a couple of twitter pages of two Iranians we got a lot of info from during the demonstrations- they’ve never been heard from.

Thanks for posting this Nork...
Good! Now if we could just walk out when Obama lies, we could start turning things around.
does this mean he is not setting the americans free?
Joe Wilson (and anyone else in Congress with ethics, smarts and b@lls), take note. Next time, just stand up and walk out.
“the Israeli settlements on Israeli land “illegitimate.””
Just like him.
The US delegates that walked out will probably be sent a dead fish by Emanuel.
But will Obama invite him to his after-party party?
Big deal.
If the Americans and French really had any character they would have walked out during Obama’s anti-America tirade.
Good point. ;-)
I heard Canada walked out, too. Good for them.
Amadinnerjacket probably mumbled something about war....France surrended and 0bama's puppet apologized for being an American and said "right behind ya Frenchie...."
looks like at least 12 different delegations.
It would have been friggin awesome if someone had let out a “YOU LIE” while Ahmadumnutjob spoke.
The Frogs got a backbone? Maybe they thought they were running away to surrender.
I think Canada left before he started.
Ummm........Canada led the walkout.........check out all of the other news outlets........and yes good on Everyone who walked out
Who could have imagined France and Canada having a more courageous and conservative foreign policy than the US?
Ronald Reagan would have considered finding Kadhafi and Ahmadinejad in the same place at the same time to be the biggest stroke of targeting luck ever.
Nice signs!! thank you to whoever did this.
I’m sure the mullahs are shaking in their boots that we walked out on them. Oh wait.
It is time to match actions with words.
Ah, reminds me of the good old days when there were road sign BILLBOARDS telling us to ...GET US OUT OF THE RED UN! and on the other side was the words...IMPEACH EARL WARREN!
:’)
We got led??
By France????
They walked out? Outstanding! That’ll teach him a lesson. He will be unable to sleep tonight agonizing over it. Surely, for the sake of all humanity, someone somewhere has him on suicidal watch. He simply won’t be able to deal with this rejection on his own without some professional counseling. Has anyone notified the local authorities in NY?
