I must have missed it, did the Massachusett’s legislature change the law - perhaps today?

Did the law allowing an interim appointment pass? Last I heard they had the 50% votes to pass it, but it wouldn’t go into effect for 90 days unless they had a 2/3 majority to declare it an emergency and the Republicans weren’t falling for that.

Massachusetts has show its real self. Not about democracy, not about representative republic, just about keeping ruling class in power.

Gov. Duval has to file a letter with the Secretary of State declaring this “an Emergency”!! When the secretary accepts the letter Duval (Yes!We CAN!) can then male the appointment so the legislature did not pass the Emergency clause this strictly comes down to Cadillac Duval’s slavering sycophancy to Obama and the millions of phone calls from Axeldork, Harry Reid etc.
This is an Obama Orchestration and always has been.

I have no problem with states like MASS going full blown socialist, gay marriage etc... so long as they keep it within their borders.

Allow states like MT & AK to be all they can be and there will be nothing left in MASS and states like them but a glob of human debris and no one to pay for it.

He’s a former DNC Committee Chairman, Chairman of the JFK Library Foundation, and a Kennedy loyalist, pal, confidant, lawyer, etc., etc.

Kirk is most likely a place holder for the Kennedy Klan, giving them time to dry out one of their own long enough to get him elected while they and the DNC put the fix in on the January election.

Ex post facto has always been interpreted as preventing a legal act from becoming illegal. For instance, they can’t charge you with a crime tomorrow for an act you did today that was legal today and not tomorrow.

This is, incidentally, why bills like amnesty are Constitutional (unfortunately) as it does the reverse - making an illegal act legal, retroactively.

Ex post facto would not apply in this case.

Why doen’t the RNC sue to enforce proper Massachusetts law that REQUIRES a special election for an open seat?

Why allow an ex post facto change (to suit Obmania)??

Ex post facto applies only in criminal law. Of course, the MA politicians are criminal, but this is deemed a “civil” matter, and the people of MA will be elated with Kirk. The name still starts with a “K” and is followed by a “D”. It is odd though that most of the MA people “paying the bills” are not even Democrats.

I think MA is increasingly the center of the “Spirit of America”, which is socialist. Stalin would be elated at the turn of events, and MA people would make Stalin proud.
