Police in dawn raid to clear migrants from Jungle camp in Calais

A young Afghan man stared through red eyes at the remains of the camp that had been his base in Calais while he attempted to reach Britain.

In the blue tarpaulin held up by sticks and string that was his shelter lay the meagre belongings he had been unable to gather as police cleared the area yesterday — a pair of laceless shoes, a tube of toothpaste, a milk churn half full of water.

Now it was too late. A burly officer touched him on the shoulder and pointed the man towards his next destination — a police van waiting to take him to be arrested.

In what they hailed as a blow against people-traffickers, French authorities claimed to have detained 276 migrants, including 135 under the age of 18, in the demolition of the Jungle, as the camp was known.

It's good that the Frog police have torn up the dreams of future illegal immigrants - no gateway to Great Britain.

I think I disagree. If you’re going to have muzzies it’s probably better to have Afghans than Arabs. The Afghans I’ve known here in the states fit in very well.

Yeah. I worked with a US born muslim for years. Thought the same thing about him.

Then one day he bitched bitterly about my “God Bless America” sign on the very day I put it up in my cubicle.

That day happened to be 9/11...

Joey Silvera ~ What’d he have to say later that day?

That he was going to report me to HR for bringing religion into the workplace.

If one ever needed proof that allah is not God, that would suffice.

bustinchops ~ Whoa!! Bizarre!

Not for a muslim.

He really didn't like my next sign...

Just saw a French movie called “Welcome” about just this topic. Quite a good movie. Showed the camps in Calais and people trying to get across. They would hide in trucks and when cops stuck C02 detectors in these trucks they would put bags over their heads so as to not breath out C02!
