A top Democrat on the Hill urged President Obama Tuesday to send more troops to Afghanistan to avoid more loss of life in the war-torn region.
Missouri Rep. ike Skelton, the top Democrat of the House Armed Services Committee, wrote in a letter to the Obama administration that it needs to keep its eye on defeating the Taliban in Afghanistan to protect the U.S. from al-Qaida.
"This leads me to urge you to waste no time in providing a clear direction to our commanders and civilian leaders, along with the resources necessary to achieve their mission," Skelton wrote. Skelton also alleged that the Bush administration took its eye off Afghanistan as part of a strategy designed to put more attention on their efforts in Iraq.

The money quote. The President is derelict on his Constitutional duties. He is not providing clear direction as Commader in Chief.
They'll also have to change their ROE if they want to be successful.

Obama is doing now, what Pelosi used to do to Bush,....hold off support of the troops, til you get what you want, and they want healthcare passed,...cap and tax....and sooo much more...
Prediction: The Obama/Rats will send a few thousand more non-combat troops for cosmetics and for cover while starting a pullout.
Beyond reprehensible.
I learned two basic lessons about leadership in the military.
1. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.
2. There are those who are so afraid of making the wrong decision that they are unable to make any decision.
Both are lessons not learned by Obama.
