Mexico's violent drug gangs are increasingly kidnapping illegal migrants for ransom and forcing them to carry narcotics into the United States as they muscle into the lucrative trade of smuggling people across the border.

Traffickers armed with automatic weapons are snatching weary Mexican and Central American migrants on both sides of the border and holding them in cramped houses with little water or food until families pay ransoms of up to $12,000.

I thought these people were poor and thus willing to do crappy paying jobs. Yet ransoms are being paid of many thousands of dollars.

Clear cut case for putting the military on the border. Let loose on the major hardware and show the cartel what guerrilla fighting is really about.

Although I do feel for the ones murdered. I certainly wouldnt want to get a call from some gringo saying he had my little brother by the throat.

But pro-mexican DHS “leader” Nutty-litano will blame the Canadians for having a porous border.

The main problem of Illegal immigration lies in people in power who live in Mexico City. Them and the ties they have to both the Right (Businesses and the Church) and the Left (Businesses and AZTLAN type groups with the promise of Votes).

This is why more than 70% of US Citizens are mad as hell about immigration and nobody in power is going to do a damned thing about it.

The real stories are not being reported.

Drugs are only a very small part of the picture.

These cartels, organized crime from Mexico are the ones exploiting and abusing their OWN people! Yet, those of us who would like to see it stopped are called ‘racist’. The irony is so thick you could wall up the entire border with it!

Exactly, and those same rich Mexicans are all coming to the USA on special visas to escape the mess they created...ONLY to bring more of it here. What’s disgusting is many on the right, some freepers, think it’s a dandy idea, because the new imports are rich and start businesses here...which will NOT hire one USA citizen!

"I thought these people were poor and thus willing to do crappy paying jobs. Yet ransoms are being paid of many thousands of dollars"

If a loved one is going to be killed people will get money any way they can, Borrowing, stealing. Worry about the consequences later. Put yourself in their place. Even if you had nothing, I am sure you could come up with thousands if the life of a loved one was on the line. If necessity is the mother of invention desperation can move mountains.

"Must be wealthy families sending their worthless, spoiled children out into the world."

Wealthy families can afford to send their kids to college in the US and buy them plane tickets. They don't have to sneak across the border.

It's not the Candians job to keep people out of this country, it's ours. They have to keep people out of their country that come in through the USA. Not many sneak into Canada via the north pole.

Clear cut case for putting the military on the border.

That will never happen while a sizable portion of Congress is filled with Communists dedicated to our overthrow.

They find relatives who have saved many untaxed gray area monies and tap it where they can.

In most cases they probably want 5k IMO.

Typically the family goes and borrows the money from someone they know will loan money. The problem is that they often end up borrowing from the same people that did the kidnapping. The people that loan the money get their money back when the family member is ransomed but the family is still has to pay back the money they borrowed in the first place.
