At least the 4th incident this month where homeowners stood their ground against intruders
Naked, grizzled and grumpy after having been rudely awakened, Robert E. Thompson, of Lake Worth, Fla., reached for his loaded .38 caliber revolver and shuffled his way out back where his dog was growling ferociously. The World War II veteran encountered a drunken man who couldnt speak English; 26-year-old Jose Pasqual was trying to fend off Thompsons Rottweiler/Doberman pinscher mix, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Thompson pointed his gun at the intruder, who had just scaled a fence into his yard.
Pasqual took a step towards the naked man. Thompson fired a warning shot. That was all he needed.
Pasqual kept his distance until Palm Beach Sheriff deputies arrived on the scene. He tried to make small talk but Thompson couldnt understand a word he said. However, when deputies arrived on the scene, ordering Thompson to drop his gun, it accidentally discharged, sending a tiny bullet fragment ricocheting off the pool deck into his right shin.
The man who was awarded a Purple Heart during World War II for combat in Europe was treated and released from a hospital in a few hours.
It hasnt been a good month for intruders. Less than two weeks ago, a father and son in Miami beat a man to death who had scaled a fence into their yard. Police decided not to charge the pair.
Also, two other incidents of residents defending their homes against intruders occurred in Palm Beach County.
In 2005, Gov. Jeb Bush signed what is referred to as the "Stand Your Ground" law, which states that citizens who use deadly force in self-defense are immune from criminal prosecution and civil liability.
Before the passing of the law, deadly force only applied to intruders who entered the home, and even then people had the burden of proof to show they feared for their safety.
The current law now includes the area outside of one's home, but the homeowner must "reasonably believe" that deadly force is necessary.
Some believe the law simply encourages vigilantism.
The police later charged the naked 91 year old with assault with a dead weapon.
Some believe the new law is working and what was already written in the article. DOH!
Well, I guess if he didn’t have a rifle, that was the next best thing...
(... this is my rifle... this is my gun...)
Hey, 91 or not, he’s packin’ something obviously.
This is my RIFLE
This is my GUN
This is for SHOOTING
This is for FUN
Full Metal Jacket
How long did the man have to keep his finger on the trigger? His finger may have cramped up. Good thing the cops did not shoot him.
Frickkin brilliant.
Another illegal alien perp.

That last part is very important.
Before the passing of the law, deadly force only applied to intruders who entered the home, and even then people had the burden of proof to show they feared for their safety. The current law now includes the area outside of one's home, but the homeowner must "reasonably believe" that deadly force is necessary.
I think this is wrong. I do believe it applies to the area around you, your home has nothing to do with it. So if I'm walking down the street and four guys jump out with rocks and demand my wallet, I don't have to comply or run, just unholster and fire.
Let's revise that sentence to read "Some IDIOTS believe the law simply encourages vigilantism."
These homeowners are not out dragging people onto their property in order to harm them or to kill them!! They are using their rights to protect their property!!'
GOOD FOR THEM!!!
“26-year-old Jose Pasqual”
ha! you got pwned by an old naked guy! that should do wonders for your self-esteem, huh?
“Some believe the law simply encourages vigilantism.”
That end line is how one knows it was an article by a presstitute working in the lamestream media.
Don’t mess with a naked vet......
Love that pic! I did something very similar as an art project in college about 13 years ago. I made little soldiers out of the shotgun shell casings, with arms made out of bullets and rifles made out of candles resting on their shoulders. (No live ammo used.) I lit the candles shortly before the art show after I arranged them all in a peace symbol. Also had some WWII-like aircraft made out of shotgun shells surrounding the whole thing.
It irked the hell outta all the lib arteests there. None of them really “got” the intended message (as stated underneath your pic there), but just the sight of ammo sent them into a tizzy. Hehehehe...
Man, thats a mental picture
