On August 25th 2009, Big Hollywood’s Patrick Courrielche broke the story of a conference call he attended with other “rising artist and art community luminaries”:
On Thursday August 6th, I was invited by the National Endowment for the Arts to attend a conference call scheduled for Monday August 10th hosted by the NEA, the White House Office of Public Engagement, and United We Serve. The call would include “a group of artists, producers, promoters, organizers, influencers, marketers, taste-makers, leaders or just plain cool people to join together and work together to promote a more civically engaged America and celebrate how the arts can be used for a positive change!”

I’m thinking that the reason that Breitbart along with Beck are on such a hot streak is tied to the huge levels of corruption that are now beginning to come to light. The scope of this corruption that is tied to 0bama is making for scandals to be broken on a continual basis.

I love the way Breitbart lets these things out piecemeal b/c: 1. it allows the story to build each day as we await the next “installment”; 2. it prevents the opp from coming up with a coherent cover-story b/c they don’t know what Breitbart has on them; and 3. the slow bleed forces the opp to deal with the story over several news cycles and prevents them from getting out the message they want.

If kids have to have bake sales to afford band instruments, etc., let those fat-cats do some fund-raising on their own. Find patrons and angels if they can.

"Courrielche said officials on the hour-long call -- including NEA Director of Communications Yosi Sergant and Michael Skolnik, political director for hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons -- encouraged the artists on the line to create works of art in their respective fields related to health care, energy and the environment.
"What I heard was a well thought-out pitch to encourage artists to create art on these issues," Courrielche told FOXNews.com. "We were told we were consulted for a reason, and they specifically stated those issues as the issues we should focus on, to plant the seed. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what they're attempting to do."
The word volunteerism was never used," Courrielche said. "Service was the word being used and it was in specific areas, those being health care, energy and the environment."

This attitude in the “arts” starts early. I can say, anecdotally, that young conservative artists are discouraged early on in the education system. Realistic art in the form of painting/drawing is passed over for “modern” art. Film schools give high marks based on how many F bombs are included in the student’s film. There is alot of work to be done by conservatives related to influencing the arts. They have a tremendous roll in shaping the young skulls full of mush and are basically controlled by the left.

So what did happen on that call? Was the NEA coordinating with the White House to push their agenda on a group of artists eager for and reliant upon the NEA for grants, or is the NEA telling the truth that this call “was not a means to promote any legislative agenda”?

When the Peace Corps was conceived in the heat of the 1960 Presidential campaign by John Kennedy, one of its purposes was to counter Soviet influence in underdeveloped nations, which he regarded as most susceptible to Communist propaganda. Warning that hundreds of skilled technicians from Moscow and Beijing were prepared to “spend their lives-abroad in the service of world Communism,” Kennedy proclaimed that young American men and women, “dedicated to freedom, are fully capable of overcoming the efforts of Mr. Khrushchev’s missionaries who are dedicated to undermining that freedom.”
In drawing up the law creating the Peace Corps, Congress followed Kennedy’s anti-Communist prescription. As Senator Hubert Humphrey put it, “This program is to be part of the total foreign policy of the United States to combat the virus of Communist totalitarianism.” One Senator with serious reservations was Iowa’s Jack Miller, who feared that young Americans living overseas might be politically raped, and also that Communists might infiltrate the new agency. He introduced an amendment, Section 8(c), to the Peace Corps legislation, which ordered that trainees be instructed in the “philosophy, strategy, tactics, and menace of Communism."
"Miller’s amendment passed with little debate. In a speech in support of it, Humphrey suggested that its purpose was “to complete the instruction of these people in what one might call a political counteroffensive.” The Peace Corp first director, Sargent Shriver, recalled thinking at the time that the amendment was unnecessary but harmless. “We were going to do that anyway,” he said recently.
For the next several years, volunteers attended classes in which instructors assigned readings on Communism, delivered Lectures on Marx and Lenin and staged debates on Marxism. After a while, however, less and less attention was paid to Section 8(c). Peace Corps leaders regarded it as dated and ambiguous. In the early 1970s it was completely ignored--“and with good reason,” said Richard Sykes, who was deputy director of the Peace Corps during the Carter Administration. “It was absolutely total bullshit.”

Breitbart is great, but he has the advantage of working in a VERY target-rich environment and in competition with a press that has decided that it will not investigate corruption in any way connected, however remotely, to this administration.
The result of the Press Corps' opt-out means that corrupt elements are emboldened and believe (not without cause) that they can get away with pretty much anything, and thus a blossoming and multiplication of all forms of corruption.
There is enough corruption going on to keep 10 Brietbarts fully engaged 24/7.
