Campaigning for Odinga: down the memory hole.

Kenya's Prime Minister Raila Odinga arrived in the United States of America on Saturday night to news of cancellation of a luncheon with US President Barack Obama which had earlier been scheduled for later this week.
The news followed a round of confusion over whether he would attend the luncheon, hosted by the White House for selected leaders from sub-Saharan Africa on the sidelines of the 64th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
New York-based Kenyan ambassador to the UN Zachary Muburi-Muita told the Nation on Saturday night that the State Department contacted him on Friday to “disinvite” Mr Odinga from the September 22 luncheon with President Obama in New York for African leaders.
The ambassador last Monday confirmed to the Nation that he had received an invitation letter for the PM to attend the luncheon. A dispatch to the Foreign Affairs ministry from Kenya’s Ambassador to Washington, Mr Peter Ogego, seen by the Nation confirmed the cancellation.
On Saturday, the Mr Muburi-Muita said State Department officials told him that the earlier invitation was sent accidentally; that the luncheon is actually only for African heads of State and not heads of government.
But at the White House Press briefing on Friday, US ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said the following: “The President will also host on the 22nd a lunch for heads of state and government from sub-Saharan Africa.”

For that matter, Obama's and Odinga's documented communications have probably been far more extensive than that with any other foreign government official.
That’s ‘zactly what this is about. It would give those rascally “conservative racists” an opening to bring up “commander zero’s” illegal contributions and campaigning for an islamist. Those same “racists” might also mention that, after losing the election odinga mau-maued his way into the prime minister’s seat by having his muslim thugs murder Christians, including burning churches with parishoners inside.

Clearly the stated reason is fake. The President of Kenya is the head of state and the head of government.
He can’t afford to have another communist show up in his little circle of life...and this one a relative....for whom he campaigned. They don’t want “Odinga” and “Obama” in the same news story. Glenn Beck might investigate and report.

The President of the Republic of South Africa is the head of state and head of government under South Africa’s Constitution. From 1961 to 1994, the head of state was called the State President.
So who is the President? And how does this idea of a coalition fit into this scheme.

Obama is afraid that, sometime during the luncheon, Odinga will stand up, tap his crystal glass with his spoon, face Obama and say - “WHOOZ YER DADDY??”

On February 28, 2008, President Kibaki and Raila Odinga signed a power-sharing agreement, which provided for the establishment of a prime minister position (to be filled by Odinga) and two deputy prime minister positions, as well as the division of an expanded list of cabinet posts according to the parties’ proportional representation in parliament. On March 18, 2008, the Kenyan parliament amended the constitution and adopted legislation to give legal force to the agreement. On April 17, 2008 the new coalition cabinet and Prime Minister Odinga were sworn in.
It falls short of declaring Odinga head of state or head of government though.
I stand corrected; state.gov does declare the Kenyan President head of state and the Prime Minister head of government.
The mistake was in the orginal invite. Odinga should not have been invited to a HOG affair any more than Nancy Pelosi should.
More like Al Gore with a gun.
