House Speaker Nancy Pelosi attended a democratic fundraiser in Central Austin Saturday.
Her visit was met with a small group of grass roots protesters, who said while they are glad she is visiting the Texas Capitol, they are not happy with her policies.
They said Pelosi has lead unprecedented excesses of the federal government, and has shown a lack of respect to the American people.
"We think that all politicians need to be more responsive to the people and we're asking both republicans and democrats to be more responsive. To listen to us. To try to do things that are going to help all people. Not just a select few." Austin Tea Party Patriots' spokesperson, Greg Holloway, said.
The Austin Tea Party Patriots organized the protest.
They said they stand for fiscal responsibility, limited government and adherence to the constitution.

The sleeping giant of Mainstream America has been awakened!
Tea anyone?
You know Obama has inadvertantly solved the Social Security problem...
Since he has saddled us with so much debt...
we will all have to work until we die!!
Hence, no need for Social Security!
Good for him..meanwhile San Fran Nan denies the Central Ca. farmers their fair share of H2o for their farms and jobs.

More than 30 activists gathered outside the home of Melanie and Ben Barnes on
Saturday afternoon to protest U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Austin for a
fundraiser. Pelosi was also expected to attend the University of Texas football game.
You remember Barnes? He was the one that claimed he got Bush the job with the Texas Air National Guard to keep him out of active service. His daughter later went on Hannity and as much as called him a liar live on the air, I believe.
HOUSTON - An appearance by the controversial Speaker of the House at a northwest Harris County hospital has drawn hundreds of protesters.
Protesters lined the streets around the North Cypress Medical Center Friday as Nancy Pelosi arrived at the hospital to give what Harris County Sheriff's Office Deputy Janie Alvarez Wagner called a speech about health care.
This was a non-publicized, private appearance at the hospital, but Wagner said Harris County Deputies were called to assist with traffic control.
The secret service also was called to keep protesters from blocking streets around hospital property.
Representatives from the Harris County Republican Party confirm the appearance but can't say what she's there for or what she's speaking about.
This comes on the heels of President Obama's media blitz, where he will push his health care plan over the airwaves begining Sunday.

North Cypress Medical Center is only 4~5 miles from my house.
No wonder Pelosi kept this visit hush-hush...
LOL! I bet she was afraid that I'd show up to moon her.
