It's just one state. But its one of the centers of African-American culture and influence in the nation. Atlanta, with nearly 6 million residents in its metro area, is home to hundreds of top black musicians and other entertainers, civil rights leaders, and business entrepreneurs. Janet Jackson, Usher, Tyler Perry, and Andrew Young are just a handful of the many big names that can be found moving about the Georgia city on a given day. That's why I was startled when our firm, InsiderAdvantage, conducted this past week two separate surveys about various issues for corporate clients in the area. Both polls were conducted on the same night. To keep phone respondents on the line while the poll quizzed them on rather mundane subjects, they were told they'd be given a chance during the questioning to offer an opinion on the job performances of certain political leaders. I was shocked when one survey showed President Barack Obama with a disapproval rating of 35 percent among African Americans in Georgia, while the second one had it at 38 percent. Those two results are statistically identical, as both polls had margins of error of plus or minus 4 percent.

I hear 35% of black folks do not work for the government and are religious. Maybe they are realizing Obama is not so good after all.
The black unemployment rate currently stands at 15.1% according to the BLS statistics for August. The numbers are understated. These are Depression numbers. Yet nary a word is heard from the black caucus or our first black President.
Celebrate- the sheeple who have been led astray by the democrap party are waking up
If true, it is because he is not more Liberal.
Somewhat surprising, but the 97% vote margin for this segment of the Baraqqi coalition won’t go away next time.
If there’s an election in 2012, it still won’t be easy to defeat Baraq.
There are too many groups where he garners nearly unanimous votes.
Unions
Minorities
Illegals
Dead voters
That’s a big base to build on.
I find this hard to believe. I think 0bama will easily get 97% or more of the black vote in 2012.
Blacks are waking up. They see that Obama was all talk and no do. He will hurt the black community worse than the white. He doesn’t speak to them and their needs. They need jobs not Cap and Trade. They need opportunities not higher taxes (yes, they will be taxed). They are starting to see the truth. This is good for the nation. I believe that the day will come when the Black Baptist church leaders and the Ku Klux Klan will march together against the One. Obama will deliver on one promise—he will unify people against him.
I would love to see a few moreblack Republicancandidates in 2010. This is a pivotal year.
Actually, I've been waiting all week for some news person to pose the question, in the midst of all this "the tea partiers, town hallers and Joe Wilson shows that whites are racist and don't vote for blacks." while 95% of the blacks voted for Pres. Bobble Head.
THAT'S not "RACIST!
I think this means nothing, it is "situation normal".
The sample was not "likely voters" or even "registered voters", some % of the population will always be dissatisfied with whomever is in office.
Even if they are dissatisfied with Emperor Zero they will still get on the church bus in 2012 and cast their vote for him again, it's not like they are going to vote for a Republican. These people have made an emotional investment in this guy; it's similar to an abused spouse, they may not be happy with him but they will not leave him.
Blacks don’t like the fact that Obama appointed too many white boys and not enough “bros” in his administration. Not matter. In 2012, Obama will still get 99.5% of the black vote. If we nominate Condi Rice, she could lower Obama’s black support to 95%.
Well, being a southerner, what I’m going to say will be dismissed by some, out of tired old regional and racial stereotypes.
But, I’ve known and been friends with black people most of my life, even attended historically black churches, not just to weddings and funerals, but for regular services on occasion. They’re nearly all churchgoing people who believe. Licentious behavior is overlooked far too often, but they believe.
It’s DeathCare and abortion, plus economics. They know all too well about governments who think they have absolute power of life and death over them. Black people in the US, by and large, have an abiding respect for life that is Biblically based, and they live it. As odd as it sounds to outsiders, the huge number of single mothers actually bear witness to this. It’s but one example of Christianity on the one hand, and being all too accepting of adultery on the other, but there it is. Some claim it’s a heritage from slavery, such behavior, but I can’t say I necessarily agree.
They descend from people who were literally owned, recently enough for the family stories from grandparents and great grandparents to still be heard and shared, and know the mindset when they see it. Took long enough to recognize it, though.
That’s the lasting price we’ve paid for the aftermath of slavery and forced segregation. The socialists were able to hoodwink most of them due to their desperation, and rode into power on their backs. Now, it’s coming clear just who rode them.
It's a slow elimination process, but there are a number of different groups, who are all in bed with each other, heading in the same direction and helping to drive socialism/communism with this President forward, that will not share in the power at the end of the road!
They will still vote 99% for the assclown.
How many of those 35% are pissed at him because he’s not paying their mortgage and putting gas in their car?
I wouldn’t read too much into this without better analysis. People disapproving of Obama could mean a lot of things, like he isn’t moving his agenda fast enough for them, or he isn’t socialist enough, or the government checks aren’t big enough.
There was an interesting story the other day about how the NFL overwhelmingly-—players, coaches, owners-—gives to Republicans, in massive amounts. The SD Chargers were #1, giving hundreds of thousands to the GOP!
I don’t know which poll it was because I just caught the tail end, but on whether the tea parties opposing Obama were racist, 42% blacks said “no”. I think blacks are becoming more main stream. Of course they voted for the first black president in large numbers, but this poll proves they are beginning to think for themselves. IMHO
Not yet my friend.
Even if the Black voter realizes that Obama and his party are not what they were sold to be. It does not necessarily follow that he will change his voting habits.
The Republicans would have to offer the Black voter an alternative that they were willing to vote for over the Dimocrats.
Even though McCain was near the bottom of my choices for President I still went out and campaigned for him. Even though I was thoroughly disgusted with the Republicans after their spendthrift years in the majority I still went out and worked for their reelection.
I would take a great deal of persuasion to get me to vote for another partys candidate. I identify myself more as a conservative than a Republican but I know that the only chance for the conservative cause is in the Republican Party.
I expect that the thinking of Black Democrats will be similar.
Maybe black folks are finally waking up to the reality that liberals and democrats are not their friends at all but in fact their new slavemasters, their new enemies, the ones that are keeping them in their place so to speak, the ones that are robbing them of the opportunities they need to succeed, to grow, to prosper just like the rest of us. This is the basic difference between conservatism and liberalism. Liberalism is socialism and communism combined to bring everybody down to the same level, not to raise people up and out of poverty but to keep everybody equal even if it means using racism and class warfare as tools and lies to make it all happen whereas conservatism renews the values, the traditions, the principles of our founding fathers that all men should have equal opportunity for progress, advancement and prosperity. The liberalism cause can only succeed and advance through lies, deception, corruption and bribery. If liberals actually told the truth about what they truly believe, there would not be a single liberal that would ever get elected to any office in this land. This is one reason why liberals are so fond of the practice of abortion which is in itself a kind of racial genocide because the largest number of aborted babies are minority babies. That is why liberalism discounts and disdains such ideas as patriotism and belief in God, and the Christian religion specifically. Of course with that opportunity comes personal responsibility, a work ethic, accountability and a will to overcome obstacles in a positive manner.
I’m embarrassed to admit this but the first comment I wanted to make was gonna be derogatory...something along the lines of “They’ve turned on Obama because they haven’t received any checks in the mail yet.”
But, thinking about it, I realize, alot of people actually know right from wrong...regardless of their skin color. Many in the black population were willing to give Obama a chance regardless of his previous affiliations or stated views...just as a lot of voters were willing to do. Face it, the man is persuasive. Black people had high hopes for Obama (just as I did for GWB), that failed to pan out (just as my hopes for GWB failed to pan out).
And now, realizing the mistake they made, they’ve changed their minds (...just as I did with GWB). While the man’s skin color may still be the ONLY factor for many in the black community, many realize the USA is a great country to live in and Obama is doing all he can to destroy this country.
He’s not fast enough with the reparations check and that’s
the only reason!
True. One-third of the country are already minorities, as defined by the USG.
Somewhat surprising, but the 97% vote margin for this segment of the Baraqqi coalition wont go away next time.
You are exactly right! They will pacify these clowns before the 2012 election although the midterms could be a disaster for the dems.
Exactly.
I mentioned in my earlier comment that GWB had disappointed me...but, if given the chance to replay the tape, even knowing what I know now...I would/could NOT have voted for Kerry or Gore.
Too bad it always seems to be a choice between the lesser of two evils.
(Note: I’m conservative but registered unafilliated.)
They’re probably just mad because BO hasn’t enslaved all the crackers yet.....
Nary a word is heard from the black caucus on unemployment or the importation of over 125,000 LEGAL FOREIGN WORKERS A MONTH. The Hispanic caucus has also been silent re unemployment with the Hispanic unemployment rate at 13%.
Speaking of the elections in 2012, anyone want to bet that if BO loses, there’s going to be riots?
I can’t say if these polls are accurate even though I live in Atlanta.
But we’re having a mayoral election in Nov. I’ve never experienced such a quiet campaign, no “get out the vote” excitement.
The major candidates are two blacks, Kasim Reed and Lisa Borders, and a white candidate, Mary Norwood.
Since the two black candidates will split the black vote, it appears Mary Norwood will win the election. And if it goes into a run-off Mary will definitely win.
This will be a major political sift in Atlanta. We’ve had a black mayor in office for the past 35 years.
Maybe this plus the poor performance of O is affecting the polling in Atlanta.
Well, being a southerner, what Im going to say will be dismissed by some, out of tired old regional and racial stereotypes.
An excellent observation! I too have been around black folks since my military days and I agree with much of what you are saying. However I work with many God-fearing blacks who idolized Michael Jackson and think Obama is an answer from God for the black folks. There isn’t a Republican alive who will take their vote away from the fraud occupying the WH. It’s a damn shame but that is what we’re dealing with.
Probably a big factor, although I think we can be sure that something less than 100% of the "non-supporitive" black voters will fall into the he's-not-liberal-enough category.
Nevertheless, if a large number of African-Americans become lukewarm to the Big Ø for any reason, then black turnout is likely to fall significantly for the 2012 election. And that can only be a very good sign for the 'Pub side of the political spectrum.
It may be that they see their hero is going to be reaching into THEIR pockets along with everyone else.
They are beginning to understand the forked tongue promise of "I will not raise your payroll taxes." didn't mean he wouldn't raise/put taxes on everything you touch.
They buy cigarettes, soda and such. They will be hit with an insurance premium - or fine - of thousands of dollars, etc. Many of them understand the double-speak of tens of thousands without insurance does NOT mean they are without medical care - in any hospital in the country - free.
And just wait until after Jan. when they let the Bush tax cuts expire. They're just as smart as anyone else. When they see those extra dollars out of their pay checks at the same time every other avenue of the economy is pinching them, they'll realize they bought snake oil.
Many of them may even become MORE against him than whites who oppose him on policy grounds, because they will feel personally betrayed.
The black population is about, what, 17%. Add that to, if ACORN and affiliates are REALLY defunded and/or at least not allowed near the 2010 census or "getting out the vote" - we may well see a truer picture of the voter breakdown, indicated by signs such as the overwhelming higher viewing/listening to FOX and conservative radio.
Without their hands in the ballot boxes, the socialists - well, I was going to say they are in for a rude awakening, but they already know they're out numbered. That's why they've been so steeped in voter fraud. They won't be surprised. They know the real dynamics.
It may be fun watching them trying to end-run the new developments. But with Beck and FOX and Rush et al on a roll - and, I hope, more REAL investigating reporting like our 2 young heroes just pulled off, they will find fewer dark corners in which to continue their shenanigans.
This country is very special to the "Great Spirit" - I feel His hand at work. Prayers up.
It’s simple: Part of why zero got 97% of the black vote is that the black media has been and remains even more in the tank for zero than the SRM (State Run Media). They got sold a bill of goods, too, but moreso. Now a significant part of that demographic is waking up. Remember, the vast majority of blacks are just regular people trying to get by in a caustic culture. They’re not all poverty pimps, race baiters, rappers, punks, thugs, Maxine Waters, Al Sharptons, Jesse Jacksons, etc. They are also probably more aware than non-blacks how utterly full of it those “high-profile” people and the black media are.
So it’s wake-up time all around. That’s a GREAT thing!
PS I hope this isn’t taken the wrong way. Thanks to zero setting back race relations at least 50 years, I fear that stereotypes of most blacks being poverty pimps, race baiters, rappers, punks, thugs, etc. have become common. Heck, I’ve seen it. But they’re not, as stated above.
PPS Want a real.shocker? Watch the “black media” such as BET and it’s ilk. You think the alphabet networks are bad? You haven’t seen ANYTHING!
>> There are too many groups where he garners nearly unanimous votes <<
Yes, but if they get discouraged about Barry, many of them won’t turn out to vote.
In the meantime, enthusiasm among Barry’s opponents may reach an all-time high. And it’s this very “enthusiasm gap” that could well determine the outcome of the 2012 election.
Your entire post is spot on...go back and read it, Freepers.
“Nary a word is heard from the black caucus on unemployment.”
True, but there’s a reason for that. They own the problem, and they are not interested in employment, they want reparations and welfare programs, not jobs.
An excellent and thoughtful post. Thank you.
What, it dropped from 98 to 96%.. I guess when they updated the voter roles and all the dead voters and felons were dropped off, that could account for the drop.
No, they value party loyalty over the interests of their constituents. And they know that they will be reelected regardless of what they do.
Or vocal, perhaps, calling out those white crackers on their racism.
Of course - but the % is not as vital as is % of how many (voters)? I think though that even if a like number of blacks show up to vote in '12 as in '08 he will still be overwhelmed by Mrs Palin.
...Yet nary a word is heard from the black caucus or our first black President....
Like these guys have a long history of “Caring” for the black family.Right?
It’s more like a long history of “Exploiting” and “Destroying” the black family. It is a sad state of affairs to see the cultural (systematic) destruction brought about by government policies.
Single teenage moms on welfare, youths in gangs or in jail or being killed in the streets, widespread drug use, lack of education, abortions, unemployment, NO HOPE AND NO CHANGE JUST MORE OF THE SAME...
Maybe one day, the black community will understand that the “race” card was a “joker” in the hand of the black caucus.
Black people were Republican almost exclusively, less than half a century ago, and Democrats were despised by them, so it’s possible to alter the dynamic, since it so obviously already has been altered.
But, I’m not terribly concerned about the Republican Party. I vote for their candidates because they’re often closer to my beliefs than not. A rising conservative tide should lift conservatives. If they’re Democrat, and yes there actually still are a few, then so be it. If they’re third party, so be it. If it’s a key Democrat voting bloc, starting to resist some of the more egregious power grabs, then more power to them, whatever their affiliation.
That’s where I’m coming from, and have been since that very unfortunate push for amnesty, and the concurrent, nasty, arm-twisting effort directed at certain NC Congressmen, regarding CAFTA.
The Republican Party can pound sand, as a result. Republican candidates who actually are conservative, will get my support and my vote. But, not otherwise.
I am also from ATL. I agree with you on everything except the results of the runoff.
First of all, I have no real dog in the fight. I work in ATL but live outside and am only active in my hometown politics.
However, there is no way a white person will beat a black person for the ATL mayor’s job. Here are just a few reasons:
- The current (black) Shirley Franklin has not royally screwed anything up, if anything she has done IMHO a relatively decent (for ATL standards) job considering the pile she was handed by her predecessor. So to the extent there could be a “throw the (black) bums out” factor I dont see it here.
- While ATL ostensibly claimed to be “the city to busy to hate” there is no way the local or national media is going to let a black v white conflict turn out as a bad bellwether omen for the Messiah. If there is a runoff just can’t imagine how bad the rhetoric would be. They would have to print race cards by the millions. I can imagine a radio ad implying that the King Center would be shut down under a white mayor.
If I am wrong I will run down Peachtree Street butt naked.
Instead of denigrating a whole set of people for supporting this commie, we need to try to plant seeds of discontent in every left leaner, black or white, that we can in the hope of infecting others through them.
You’re correct that a Republican, even a black one, won’t get much of the black vote. However, if disgust of zero becomes pervasive enough, a lot of the black vote will stay home just like a lot of the conservative vote did last time...
“It may be that they see their hero is going to be reaching into THEIR pockets along with everyone else.
They are beginning to understand the forked tongue promise of “I will not raise your payroll taxes.” didn’t mean he wouldn’t raise/put taxes on everything you touch.”
Ayup. Everybody is hurting in Atlanta, black businesses, workers, homeowners as well as white ones. They pretty much all depend on each other. BO hasn’t been able to produce the magic he promised so there’s little wonder he’s losing support from all groups.
I’m thinking, they are decoupling from ‘party line’ and starting to THINK independently..?
