Andy Stern, Mr Trumpka, What makes you think your organizations have not been infiltrated?
We might have video of your transgressions like we did ACORNS.
CNN.com had this to say about SEIU, December 2008:
“SEIU, which broke away from the AFL-CIO in 2005, is known for its successful but sometimes controversial tactics: It often targets private equity groups’ leaders, as well as banks and companies, WITH LOUD AND DEMONSTRATIVE. The union’s hierarchy has made no secret it hopes to grow under the incoming Democratic administration.”
“And its clout continues to grow. SEIU’s $85 million in political donations made it the single-largest contributor to either party in the recent elections. The union worked vigorously for the election of Barack Obama, who has named a former union official as his White House political director, a post once held in the Bush administration by Karl Rove.”

Bryon is a great writer.
The child molester is the local guy in Sacramento. He previously never registered as a sex offender either. Won’t find a word of it in your local rag.
I agree with you. If it was an abortion doctor, it would be front page news and non-stop coverage on all the networks.
The official, Patrick Gaspard, formerly was executive vice president of politics and legislation for Local 1199, the SEIU’s United Healthcare Workers East.
These animals sent their thugs to shut down the tea parties and ended up being arrested. In New Hampshire they started to bully a guy they realized was carrying a gun.
Now it is time to scream and shout because thuggery had a price to pay and no one stayed away or shut up.
“I thought the SEIU california cheif just got 25 yrs for child molestation.. Word..”

The SEIU has it own dictatorship. According to this article from January I came across, the UHW says the SEIU President, Andy Stern has been centralizing power in D.C. and is using authoritarian tactics suppressing democracy in treatment of other union members. Trouble within their own ranks with the way SEIU conducts itself.

Throw Them Out - UHW-SEIU calls for massive resistance by members to Stern dictatorship
by: JimmyHiggins

SEIU President Andy Stern has received authority from his international executive board of toadies and flunkies to impose a trusteeship on the 150,000 members United Healthcare Workers West (UHW). This is a punitive trusteeship imposed to silence dissent from Sterns policies of centralizing power in Washington DC and doing secret backroom deals with corporate CEOs against the interests of members. Stern is sending hundreds of union-busting scabs to California (selected SEIU international union staffers) to attack and destroy UHW, despite months of massive rank and file protests by union members.
UHW is calling for massive resistance in the workplaces to Sterns scabs.
All real trade unionists everywhere should solidarize with UHW and defend the principle of union democracy.
Sterns crackdown comes at a horrible time - by identifying union leadership with authoritarian tactics suppressing democracy, it makes it much harder for other unions to win much needed labor law reforms in Congress. Progressives should protest to SEIU and tell them Respect the Right of Dissent - Hands Off UHW!

Union President Stern the Hand in Obamas Puppet?
Posted on June 30, 2009 by WTH .
The L.A. Times had a very interesting piece last week on the unusually close relationship between Service Employees International Union President Andy Stern and President Obama. The story revealed how Stern enjoys unusual access to the White House, and how often Stern is invited to attend meetings the administration holds on policy even as other union heads are left out of the loop.
The piece does cast some doubt on just how much clout Stern might have with Obama as several of the initiatives he has pushed hard for have yet to come to fruition but it should also be remembered that this administration is only 6 months old. There is plenty of time, here.
Though it does not develop the theme, here is where the Times piece shows the danger that Andy Sterns close connection with Obama presents to the country and its various governments, federal and state both.
The SEIUs access to the White House also has left California officials unsettled. Earlier this year, the Obama administration invited the SEIU to take part in a conference call centering on a dispute over pay cuts to home healthcare workers represented by the union. State officials said the unions involvement in a government-to-government conference seemed inappropriate.
Inappropriate? You bet. But Obama indulged his buddy Stern anyway.
So, where is the danger? Andy Sterns SEIU is the biggest union in the country that represents government workers of all sorts. If Stern can translate his close relationship to the administration into cajoling and strongarming more and more government workers into his union, Stern will (and already has to a great extent) become an unelected, fourth branch of government in every state of the union as well as Congress.
Before any government budget is decided, before any responsible cut in spending is considered, government officials all across the land have to go to Andy Stern, hat in hand, to ask him if they are allowed to cut costs. This is a check on government power that the voters have absolutely no say whatever in affecting. This is a power that is illegitimately in the hands of a self-interested union thug that could not care less what good government means nor what is best for the tax payers. In fact, his interest is to screw the tax payers as much as possible, yet he is being handed almost total veto power on state and federal budgetary concerns. The closer to Obama he gets, the more his clout grows and the more powerful he becomes, legitimate or not.
This man is a danger to the whole country.

Interesting, a day before the election, Stern was in Chicago meeting with Blago:

Blagojevich Calendar Confirms Suspicions
Thursday, January 8th, 2009
By John OConnor, Associated Press
It takes two to tango and Obamas people should held accountable
Gov. Rod Blagojevichs official calendar shows he met with a top union official in his Chicago office the day before Barack Obama was elected presidentjust as federal prosecutors say the governor was scheming to trade Obamas Senate seat, possibly for a cushy union job.
The meeting with Andy Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union, also was attended by Tom Balanoff, president of the Illinois chapter of the union, which has been Blagojevichs largest campaign contributor.

And now hes using his underhanded tactics on all of America for the benefit of Obama!

Written by an SEIU employee in 2006: He discusses all the SEIU/Acorn tactics that we’ve been learning about lately - the bussing of people to the rallies while stating they are locals, the intimidation, etc. And while it is written by a union member (so there may be some prounion discussion at times), he freely discusses the abuses within. Here’s one quote:
“It is excruciating enough, after all, to spend nearly all waking hours in a windowless basement making the same 30 second phone call over and over again to Springfield voters in the course of conducting surveys, even more so to have one’s loyalty directly questioned at every turn by management and sycophantic co-workers alike.5
It is in this way that the system perpetuates itself. Members of the unruly mob, unwilling to tolerate witch-hunts and being treated like schoolchildren, move to greener pastures; left behind is an ever-increasing sect of idealistic youth turned into automatons.”

So, next on the list - exposing SEIU, just like Acorn has been exposed. This sort of funding needs to be cut off from politics. It’s been going on for a very long time, maybe it’s time for it to stop.
Let me restate this:
Kevin Funk from the 1st link - used to work for the SEIU, but does not work there anymore. That must be why he feels free to discuss the way they operate.
