Well, damn. I guess Obama DID demand a quid pro quo for stiffing Poland the the Czechs. Putin will pay to upgrade their pal Fidel’s military.

This must be the “quid pro quo” Obama negotiated with the Russians in exchange for stiffing Poland and Hungary on missile defense! It is hilarious that Putin didn’t even wait 24 hours before kicking sand at him — and us.

Now if Fidel orders up some SA-300 batteries, well then the USAF and Navy will have to abandon a good part of the Gulf of Mexico and bordering states. Would suit Hussein just fine, I’m sure. Perhaps he and Fidel could help Hugo get some 300s of his own.

Even more disturbing the fact that I checked Google News and Google, and not a single news source is reporting this other than the Cubans and the Russians. No AP, not AFP, no Reuters, and certainly no U.S. newspapers or networks.

Exactly what I was thinking. I was one of the dependants evacuated from GTMO - Oct 22, 1962. The last few years, the relevence of the event seems to have faded from media memory.

This is from the Onion right? I can’t take it anymore. Is Soetoro offering to foot the bill to rearm Castro too? Hell of time to be sober.

Maybe this time if Castro aims a missile at DC, Hussein can go over, apologize, and hand him the keys to the city.

How deranged do you have to be to see Obama and Putin as equals. Putin has more on the ball in his sleep than Obama could muster on his best day. I keep expecting to see youtube videos of Putin doing a skyng 360 dunk over a flat footed wide eyed Obama. it just aint pretty.

Well its been 25 yrs since I worked this type of subject in the USAF. but back then alot of Soviet sams were nuclear capable, putting southern FL, and the gulf at risk.what would happen to oil prices if gulf oil production was publicly threatened? The children are at work.

Russia to help Cuba modernize weaponry, train military

And serial DUMB-ASS and AMERICA-HATER, Hussein, is sucking up to them (at the expense of our great and trusted allies, the Czechs and Poles).

We could take control of CUBA in a week. Venezuela would probably take a month. The next Administration should depose Chavez and Castro. Now that Obama promised not to defend Poland and Czechoslovakia, I guess Russian does not need to defend Cuba and Venezuela. Can you imagine Cuban Missile Crisis 2.

I don't think these are nuke capable - they can just take out 12 targets simultaneously while tracking a further 100 at 250 miles. They can take out all aircraft in that range. We do not have much which can go against them directly, unless Hussein wants to risk whatever F22s that are now flying.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-300_%28missile%29

I also don't know if Russia is exporting this more effective version - nut if they are Fidel would ask for them:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-400_%28missile%29#Missile

These guys are not children - do not underestimate them - they are dedicated radicals and will do whatever it takes to achieve they aims - the total destruction of the US so they can remake it in their image. When and if Israel moves to take out Iran, oil will go to a low of $800 to a high of $2500 a barrel according to projections I've heard. This will be the onset of a full nuclear war in the middle east into which all other nations will be dragged.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the Russians sent S-300’s and S-400’s to Cuba, as Russia is refurbishing a naval base for their use there and would like to defend it against us.

On the S-400...

If Russia bases PAK-FA’s in Cuba, the S-400 and new S-500 systems would come with those fighter planes.
