Cock-fighting ring busted in Pierce County (WA)

KAPOWSIN, Wash. - Investigators from Seattle police and the Pierce County Sheriff's Department say they've busted a cock-fighting ring operating in southeastern Pierce County.
Investigators seized more than 50 roosters at the suspected cock-fighting operation near Kapowsin Friday.
Investigators from several agencies are raiding a property in the 32400 block of Meridian Avenue East near the small town of Kapowsin where the alleged ring operated, said Pierce County Sheriff's Department spokesman Ed Troyer.
Sheriff's SWAT and Meth Lab teams entered the property Friday to serve search warrants. So far, they've recovered 51 cocks and are rounding up more birds, said Troyer.
Investigators also uncovered a large marijuana grow operation and a meth lab. Agents also seized stolen vehicles, assault rifles and other stolen property. Investigators also believe there was gambling on the property.
Troyer said one suspected organizer has been arrested and agents were searching for one other.
"We know who we are looking for," he said. "There could be more arrested."
In addition to the Seattle Police Department and The Pierce County Sheriff's Department, investigators with the Washington State Gambling Commission and Pierce County Animal County are also involved.

Here’s one for you. Caddis the Younger’s sister-in-law lives just north of A Sheville, NC, in a small, liberal college town. The mayor is a rooster fighter and all that goes along even in Wa. state. Is Michael Vick a republican or what?
