SICK of vandalism and violence in his home town, John Genetzakis waged a one-man war to wipe out the thugs.
Now the business owner has paid the price, losing his house and everything in it in a frightening arson attack.
Mr Genetzakis, 37, who lives in the Hunter Valley town of Cessnock, said yesterday he had no doubt the blaze was started by youths seeking retribution.
For more than two years he has called for a police crackdown on youth gangs who smash shop windows, wreck public spaces with graffiti and harass residents in Cessnock's business centre. Mr Genetzakis' cinema is a constant target of the thugs.
Youths have also broken into his house three times this year and vandalised his beloved car collection .

So sorry for this vigilante crimefighter's home to be burned down in an arson attack.
The root cause is the current generation of youngster teenagers, who know no morals these days.
What do you think?

Fire is one of the oldest weapons of war. These monsters better hope that he never starts to feel like he has nothing to lose. This kind of destructive behavior is easily imitated.

Indeed. Get a gun, a silencer and a shovel. I'm sure there are many empty lots that could use a healthy dose of compost.

I wish it was so, but you cannot own an assault rifle like the AR-15 in Oz. (remember Port Arthur?)

Why is there gun control but no match control, stick control or ‘loose object control’?

You can own guns, but owning something like an AR-15 is not easy. Not impossible (Class D licence will allow a semi-automatic version - I'm Class D licenced) but it takes a lot of paperwork.
The bigger problem is that you can't use it to protect property - deadly force can only be used to protect yourself or another person from a risk of serious injury.
