WASHINGTON (AP) -- The House has voted to deny all federal funding for ACORN, the community organizing group that has been caught up in several scandals.
The House action came several days after the Senate took a similar vote to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN.
Republicans, long critics of the liberal-leaning group that advocates for the poor, led the effort to cut off all federal funds.
California Republican Darrell Issa, who sponsored the measure in the House, says the "scandal surrounding the criminal activities of ACORN have called into question their role in all aspects of government."
The vote, on a provision attached to a student aid bill, was 345-75. All 75 no votes were Democrats.

Fear not, they’ll re-fund them again somewhere else... like on page 1,797 of the healthcare bill or somepleace like that.

“I can’t wait to see what he does”
He’ll say nothing, but do an executive order to fund the same organization which will have a new name soon.

All 75 no votes were Democrats. And most (if not all) of those 75 owe their election victories to ACORN's voter fraud schemes.

I’m sure a bunch of them would like to but they might not try it for a while. They know too many people are watching now.

I’m curious to see the list.
I’m sure that every single one of them is in a safely gerrymandered Dhimmi district. And you know the entire Black Caucus voted to keep funding them.

Do you get a notice from FR saying that we are not supposed to post from that site? Or does it cause you technical problems?

Fixed it. You don't cut off funding to advocates of the poor. You cut off funds to criminals.

I don't go over to DU often as I always feel like I need a shower after, but I saw this posted over there on a thread about this and I though I should share!
"Acorn was caught doing some pretty indefensible things. OTOH I am sure that they were continuing to do some excellent and much needed work. But nevertheless I think ACORN as as good as dead at this point. And Beck's snicker makes it even worse."

No, sir. No. Not at all.
A leftist group that agitates for socialism, using "poor people" merely as a front for that.
Hey AP, your lies and propaganda are showing again.

Im guessing they will fund it under a different name. Not to mention how many other entities that are supported with federal dollars provide ACORN with funding as well. People need to remember: money is fungible.
To: RandallFlagg
Former impeached Federal Judge, now Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) is getting interesting. He's in a gerrymandered black district, and he votes "Present" on the ACORN-defunding/education bill. He's also expressed concern about blowback from seniors in his district on the healthcare bill.
Pelosi might want to take note of his jitters.

They advocate placing illegal and immoral enterprises in minority neighborhoods.
We need more men like the one who called Rush yesterday to speak up and take a stand. They're the only ones who can break through.

Or steer the stimulus money to them.
I’m wondering whether the House and Senate bills addressed the stimulus money earmarked for ACORN and similar groups?
