Sarah & Duncan Lead, Who Should be their VP?
Gate Of The City ^ | 9/17/09 | Chuck Ness

Posted on 09/17/2009 8:53:06 AM PDT by OneVike

I took a poll yesterday of whom Freepers would like to see as the Republican Presidential candidate in 2012. As you can see Sarah Palin was a hands down winner. However, you can still vote in that poll if you haven't and change the outcome, but the trend is obvious. Of 785 votes Sarah received 496 for 62%. Next was Duncan hunter with 70 votes for 8%, trailing a distant third was Mitt Romney with 43 votes at 5%. The other category received the same total as Romney did, while the rest received such low amounts of votes they are not even worth mentioning, for President that is.

What Ticket Would Freepers Like to See For President in 2012

Which brings me to my next poll. I took Sarah and Hunter and set up some scenarios for the 2012 GOP ticket. You will see that I gave quite a range of possibilities yet only for Sarah and Hunter My poll my choice and besides it is my opinion that if every registered Freeper voted the outcome would have more votes but the same result in percentages.

I have had many comments that tell me it is way too early for a poll that can mean anything, but allow me to present a few reasons why I and a few other Freepers believ it is not too early to decide.

First off, we really do not want the left to chose our candidate for us, so let's make sure the RINOs know we do not want them screwing up our best chance at fixing what they already screwed up . Thanks to the left all of our financial reserves have been taxed and in two or three more years the situation will just get worse. Consider if you will, the amount of money and influence that will be exerted to keep Obama in the White House. We are talking in the excess of a probably a billion dollars just for Obama's political reelection campaign. Add to that the influence of the MSM that is now an official partner with the Democrat party. The upcoming movies and politicking that Hollywood will bombard the country with. The ongoing constant pressure and influence of television programs, and the music Industry (which now includes many CW stars like Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and brad Paisley). Not to mention the concerted effort of the Universities across America and the public school system.

There will be an all out assault upon the GOP candidate that we chose. An assault that will do everything in their power to keep Obama's butt on Air Force One. They will do what ever is necessary to keep the Messiah in the White House. Remember, Obama began his run for the White House in 2004 after wining his Senate seat. So it is incumbent upon us to decide now, whom we would like our political donations and our time to be spent on. After all, it will take a lot of money and dedication of time to defeat the coalition of Obama/Hollywood/Soros/MSM/ACORN, and it is imperative we start now.

So with no further delay, I ask that you freep my poll so I can see what ticket you, my fellow Freepers, would like to see on the GOP for 2012.

Well, I pray this poll is as successful as the last one. Sorry for all those of you who will disagree with it, but it is what it is.

Had Mitt Romney or Ron Paul won the poll like Sarah did, I would be having them in this poll instead of her and Hunter.

Petreaus, Santorum, Thompson, Hunter, Issa. In that order.

Based on the poll it would be Palin-Hunter. Given her resume I doubt she could be the first candidate since whenever to pick a lowly Congressman, however.

As much as I love Sarah, I’m rethinking it a bit. I don’t like ANY male candidate with the same fervor I like her, but I’m thinking a solid conservative with Gubernatorial experience and Sarah as VP would be just fine & dandy with me. :)

I’d almost prefer SP as VP -

that would give her 16 years to kick ass instead of just 8.

And, in answer to the thread question

MICHELLE BACHMAN.

If we nominate Palin (or any other 2008 loser re-tread) we will lose. Palin is a flake. She couldn’t handle governing Alaska; how can she handle being president. Palin as nominee guarantees 4 more years of Hussein and his communist cronies.

Sarah's VP as my tagline says:

Allan Mulally

Ford's CEO, Google him what he has done and is doing.

He would carry Michigan and IMHO possibly OH and IN and that would stop the Bamster in his tracks politically.

He’d be one. So would Congresswoman Michelle Bachman of MN, though maybe some time as Governor for her, first.

Wisconsin needs a swift kick in the @ss with a Republican Governor this time around, for certain! Scott Walker (currently Milwaukee County Exec.) may just pull it off, because most of WI has pretty much had it up to HERE!

Sarah Palin - Great policy positions/great grassroots/energetic support/will be completely destroyed by the media

Mitt - RINO, one word RomneyCare

Jeb - Pro-Amnesty

Huckabee - “Compassionate Conservative” i.e big spender/pro-social bailouts

Crist - RINO

Jindal - Squishy presenter will be run over

Paul - Great small government guy, but can’t overcome kook support

Cantor - Good conservative . again, weak presenter

Allen - Macaca

Thompson - Not interested

Giuliani - Been there done that

Keyes - Same problem as Paul

Barbour - undefined

Hunter - Ideal policy positions, but unfortunately no star power

Petraeus - A future Powell?

Pawlenty - Milk toast

Other - We need a hard nosed, conservative true believer, solid record on the issues, who is not afraid and is also a performer = TBD

Really? Do you mind if I ask what has brought about this change?

I don’t think VP twice would work. Somebody who chooses to be No. 2 more than once? It would be the equivalent of saying, “Yes, I’m qualified, and I will do it if I have to, but I’d rather not. I’d prefer to just support.” That’s not leadership, and it is not who Gov. Palin is.

Hey I was distracted by shiny lights and didn't get a chance to vote. I don't feel bad, my girl won. Bet it was all us old FredHeads. Good thing you didn't put Fred Thompson on there or I would have had a quandary.

As far as VP I'm not even going to suggest someone. That's a complicated decision to be made once you've got the nomination locked up. Remember Bush enlisted Cheney to help him find his VP. He made the right choice after all that.

Just emotionally I'd love to see a VP Dick Cheney (again) or Fred Thompson. Mike Pence caught my eye at the Kill Obamacare rally.

I've heard some similar doubts from Palin supporters, and there is no logic behind the doubts.

If there were any GOP men with the leadership potential and the gonads to speak the desperately needed truth consistently, they would be front and center right now, and 62% of the combined conservatives and independents would be following them -- right now.

None of them have the following, and very few of them have the courage.

Whether she wants to be or not, Sarah is the current de facto leader of the free USA.

Fred Thompson. He’s also outside the general corruption, but he knows how DC works. He can’t raise the excitement among the base that Sarah can, so he can’t run for POTUS.

Plus his wife is hot, so we’ll have a hot POTUS and a hot wife of VP. We haven’t had a hottie there since Kennedy. I know, for shame being so shallow.

That's because the media refused to give him coverage. There's a video of him in Congress showing the average Gitmo prisoner meal. He was really damn entertaining.

Instead the media gave us "Maverick McCain" 24/7.

It got a lot of knuckle heads really excited. Let's choose our own candidate this time.

About Duncan Hunter: Well, no one knew about the Tea Party in DC on 9/12 either.

I'm wondering if there can be a true grassroots Repub Presidential candidate. Is there any way to bypass the ridiculous RINO leadership or MSM or whoever that fixes it so that a Bush or McCain gets the top spot, no matter what thinking conservatives want? (sorry, but Bush really needed more help to articulate himself out of a paper bag; I voted for the Pro-life candidate, but he did give us Stimulus I and spent like a drunken sailor...).

You need someone who can communicate; who can keep his or her hands off Argentinian females; someone who understands that America was a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy and that we should return to the former. One can wish...

We have to do something about this media before the next election or we don’t have a prayer of getting a conservative.
Last time they stuck Hunter on the end of the line in every debate, wouldn’t even pan the camera on him, wouldn’t ask him questions.

STOP letting the media pick your candidates! EXpose the media, hold tea parties on their front door step!

Sarah's no flake, and she handled AK beautifully.
She was an effective leader and kept AK fiscally responsible. It's being dragged into court for the sake of political gameplaying that drove her out of office.
She was tired of the state being a laughingstock because of all the baseless attacks on her.Now she's reinforcing her power and she will be a force to be reckoned with.
She was a loser because of McCain and other factors in 2008. You'll see a different person in Sarah when she runs...and she will win.
