Kudos to Jon Stewart, who doesn’t sugar-coat the embarrassment at all — to the apparent delight of his audience, who get kudos of their own. How can the national news media ignore the many allegations of corruption at ACORN, which gets millions of dollars in federal funding, and allow a couple of independents with $3,000 and a bad wardrobe scoop them on the undercover story of the year? It’s easy when newsrooms are more concerned with political direction than truth. Stick around to the end, when Stewart zings Michelle Malkin haters:

The media is still tied up full time with the latest breaking news from Levi Johnston.

Is this the same media that sent dozens of reporters to Wasilla, Alaska to look for dirt on a political candidate where no accusations of wrongdoing were ever charged?

This story writes itself. It has sexual degradation, sexual abuse of minors, illegal importation of children for sex trades, tax fraud, money laundering and on and on. What it is missing of course is a Republican, and the story is therefore useless.

I think Stewart has figured out where the next comedy gold mine is located. So far, he’s just in the ACORN vein and is already finding 24 carat material. The OBAMA vein is a lot bigger, but he’s got to get a little more equipment to mine it...extra hard hats, hazmet suit, bigger legal team, sufficient self-defense weapons, etc., but once those are in place he should be ready to go. And when the others see the response to him the 2010 Comedy Gold Rush will be on.

This could be a really, really, really big deal. As Alinsky said, ridicule is a potent weapon, and we all know there’s plenty about this administration deserving of ridicule. (Maybe Jon watched the 9/12 march on DC and said to himself, “Hmmm....that’s one hell of a lot of people...”)

It's just another nail in the coffin. I was talking yesterday with one of my associates who is on the liberal side and he didn't understand why I had such disdain for the media. He did understand when I made clear how the press has totally abdicated it's self-proclaimed role as “watchdog”, or a “check on government”. They are so in the tank for Odip$hit and the ‘Rats that they aren't so much watchdogs as lapdogs, and they no longer “check” government so much as support and enable it.
