A Virginia judge has set a Nov. 10 execution date for John Allen Muhammad, mastermind of the 2002 sniper attacks in the Washington, D.C., area.
The attorney general's office had requested a Nov. 9 execution. But Muhammad's attorney Jonathan Sheldon says Prince William County Circuit Judge Mary Grace O'Brien delayed it one day.
That's because Nov. 9 is a Monday and they want government offices to be open the day before in case of last-minute court action....

Buh bye.
Yeah. Nov. 9th, 2039
They have decided the execution will be held on the Tenth of Never, I presume...
His accomplice should have been put on the same list.

will Baraq and TOTUS be giving a speech as the warm-up?
Marking my calendar - party time!!!!
Wow. 7 long years.
How very efficient of our “justice” system.
Awwww .... he’s gonna miss Turkey Day.
Guess the rest of us will have yet another thing to be thankful for.
What are y'all talkin' about? Virginia's record for following through with executions is one of the most consistent in the nation. And that's even with Tim "personally opposed" Kaine as Governor.
I will believe it when I see it.
Last week I saw a Van Jones video where he said only white people do this stuff. No one in the media mentioned this guy, or Wayne Williams, a black man who murdered 30 children in Atlanta in the 70s.
November 10. How fitting. He randomly took the lives of 10 innocent people.
whatever
“After his arrest, authorities also claimed that Muhammad admitted that he admired and modeled himself after Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, and approved of the September 11, 2001, attacks. One of Malvo’s psychiatric witnesses testified in his trial that Muhammad had indoctrinated him into believing that the proceeds of the extortion attempt would be used to begin a new nation of only young, “pure” black people somewhere in Canada.”

Why didn’t they just move it up to the 6th?
That way we could have all weekend to celebrate.
Seven years? how does that compare to the OC bomber?
I don’t remember it taking that long for him.
Too bad the triggerman was let off the hook due to his age.
Fairfax County put all evidence including his pre- and post-murder binge drawings on its web site.
The kid was a stark raving Nation Of Islam Muslim nutcase!
There was also the guy who went beserk on a Long Island commuter train.
Hey, come back to me on Nov. 10th. If I am wrong, then you will receive a sincere apology from me.
Question is.....will you do the same if it doesn't happen?
Same here. I’ll believe it when I see it. Until I see it, I’ll go ahead and assume he will outlive us both while enjoying hot meals, free health care and HBO.
I’m not really sure what your point is here. Yes, there may indeed be delays. That doesn’t change the fact that, like I said, Virginia is one of the most consistent states in applying the death penalty.
While I don’t know, I would suspect the November date was chosen to be after the election for Governor. That would mean any political damage to Kaine (or Deeds, pre-election) for a stay would be minimal.
Virginia ranks only behind Texas in applying the death penalty.

Indeed.
The white boy was fast-tracked.
Gotta make up for all that “racism” in the justice system dontcha know.
I’m with you on this one.
Virginia will do its duty.
Do you recall the trouble the Prince William County (VA) AG went through to obtain custody of these two creeps instead of turning them over to Maryland, which would NEVER EVER have given either one the death penalty.
Malvo was let off the hook only due to a US Supreme Court ruling about minors and the death penalty.
They couldn’t do it before election day (Nov 3), Deeds needs all the votes he can get.
This POS should have been tried, then executed 7 years ago. Good-riddance anyway.
I thought he was ‘fast-tracked’ because he didn’t want any appeals. IIRC, his lawyers wanted to appeal and he said no.
LOL...he could still vote; dead or not. ACORN can help with that.
ROFL!!!!!!!!!! You two are funny!!!!
BTW, if anyone really cares.......it is raining yet again here on the Eastern Shore. If this keeps up I fear that this part of Virginia is going to float out into the Atlantic and the Ocean and Chesapeake Bay will meet much farther north than it currently does.
Anyone got a spare bedroom or 2 if we have to start swimming?
You can stay with me! Not to worry, we’ll take care of you.
Thanks FRiend.........I love VA FReepers!
I used this article on a Delaware forum I still participate in. The discussion on the particular thread was about a dude that killed a town cop in southern Delaware.
While Delaware may be better than Maryland when it comes to the death penalty, it is in no way comparable to Virginia.
You are right of course, but STILL, let us never forget of the inherent “racism” in our justice system.
McVeigh was executed June 11, 2001 — the time between crime and punishment isn’t all that different.
Van Jones became a revolutionary communist following the 1992 L.A./Rodney King Riots (58 dead)

"Jones was arrested during the L.A. riots and spent a short time in jail. "I met all these young radical people of color," he recalls, 'I mean really radical: communists and anarchists. And it was, like, "This is what I need to be a part of." I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary.'..."

From David Horowitz's FrontpageMag.com /DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
"Throughout its history, one of RCP's [Revolutionary Communist Party] principal objectives has been to foment civil unrest in the United States. The most notable example of such efforts occurred on April 29, 1992, when RCP members looted and trashed the downtown and government districts of Los Angeles, triggering the infamous Rodney King riots. During the days immediately preceding the violence, RCP -- which maintained close ties to the L.A. gangs known as the Crips and the Bloods -- had circulated throughout South Central Los Angeles a leaflet featuring a statement by RCP National Spokesman Carl Dix, titled 'It's Right To Rebel' -- a quote popularized by Mao Zedong.
Encouraged by Dix, RCP activists helped lead the riots that would leave 58 people dead, more than 2,300 people injured, some 5,300 buildings burned, and $1 billion in property damaged or destroyed. On the ten-year anniversary of the rioting, RCP member Joseph Veale fondly recalled the violence as 'the most beautiful, the most heroic civil action in the history of the United States.'"

Well damn, there goes Obama’s candidate for Sniper Czar.
You can use one of our bedrooms if you can bring a tanker truckload of water this way.
That's ALL?????
Seriously, that is exactly what my husband's response was when I repeated your comment to him. It has become beyond insane. I'm just thankful we don't live "in town" and have to comply with "grass" height ordinances. We can't keep up with the weeds. It seems that just when everything has dried out enough to bring out the lawn mower the rains come again and everything is again mush and once again needs to dry out. Of course while the ground is drying out, the weeds are growing another 2inches a day.
I would really enjoy sharing all this water with everyone I know who is in need because we sure as heck don't need anymore at the moment.
Could've used it months ago. Almost pumped my well dry several times trying to keep the crops watered. Ticked my wife off when I had to pump down the swimming pool.
Oh man, I had no idea things were that bad out by you. I’ll stop whining about too much rain.
I guess I am still adjusting to the size and different climate (for lack of a better term) of Virginia after so many years of living in the tiny state of Delaware. To go from the southernmost point to the northern most point in Delaware is just a 2 hour drive. It’s at least 3.5 or 4 hours just for me to get to Richmond. From where I live, I can actually get to Dover quicker than I can get to Virginia Beach, let alone Norfolk or Richmond.
Regardless, I still prefer living in Virginia :)
Back on topic, my remark on the Delaware forum in regard to this execution date has stirred up another round of gungrabber posts.
The temps haven’t been bad, but we are still about 5 or 6 inches below what we should be for rainfall.
I am nothing, if not intellectually honest & can admit when I am wrong.
I tip my hat to you, sir.
You are very gracious.
FWIW, there are very few things about which I can commend our current (but for not much longer) Governor. But on this, he has kept his word. It’s not an easy decision for him, but he’s done what he said he would do.
