I hope that all the 20-somethings that voted for this creep are happy now. A few weeks ago there is a bill to give the POTUS control over the internet and now this. Any comment (don’t exclude text messaging) is being monitored and archived.

Another in a long list of reasons why I don’t Facebook, My Space, Twitter, etc. “Social networking?” IMHO, just begging for trouble.

First, taxpayers are paying for a commie front org. called ACORN. Now we’re paying for partisan political spying on ourselves. I’m sure there’s more of this going on.

This is the real downside to these social networking sites. People can “crawl” these systems and collect all sorts of data for who nows what intent.
It seems that this is high on the White House list of priorities.
If you trust Obama and Rahm Emmanual, you should have no issue with this. If you have even a slightly functioning brain, you should be very worried.

I read the contract for this, and it appears to only collect data on the WH pages on Facebook etc., not all over Facebook etc. The explanation is that archiving is needed for FOI purposes.
However, I should say the information on the contract is still a bit unclear and it MAY go beyond just the main page of the WH Facebook page etc., which would be a major violation of privacy and the law if so.

"the Presidential Records Act requires that the administration gather the information" Facebook?
That's not a Presidential Record, that's more like a tape recorder in every public square in America.

I'm surprised anybody is upset about the WH viewing and/or preserving public websites.I guess I don't like the fact that they're using tax payer money for political gain. That's against the law, and we shouldn't take that lightly. If the DNC wants to do this, fine. But when the white house does it the line is crossed. The white house is powerful, and this is an abuse of that power directed at one of our fundamental rights: freedom of speech.
This shouldn't be taken lightly.

The last administration kept tabs on terrorists plots against the United States. This new administration keeps tabs on it's own citizens personal thoughts and opinions.
