Is the ACORN scandal worthy of national broadcast news coverage? ABC News anchor Charlie Gibson suggested Tuesday that the answer is no.But Gibson told a radio show Tuesday morning that he wasn't even familiar with the story — and it might be "just one you leave to the cables."
ABC reporter Jake Tapper has filed some reports on the scandal, and Gibson was asked on WLS Radio's "Don & Roma Show" what he thought of the story.
"I don't even know about it," Gibson said, laughing. "So you've got me at a loss. ... But my goodness, if it's got everything, including sleaziness in it, we should talk about it in the morning."
When one of the radio show's hosts described it as a "huge issue," Gibson said ABC had "done some stories about ACORN before, but this one I don't know about."

He doesn't know about it, but he does. From the audio I heard, I thought he sounded like he wanted to avoid the topic and pled ignorance in order to do so.

Sheehan took her war protest to Obama's vacation on Martha's Vineyard, much as she did to Bush's ranch in Crawford Texas. You may recall the media showing her every move-- the long stare into the sunset as she lamented the fact that Bush wouldn't acknowledge her vigil; the flower memorial placed on Bush's driveway, etc.
But when she follows Obama on vacation, Gibson says, "Enough already".

It's hard to believe that the Disney corporate level people can look at their abysmal ratings with ABC News and then see this kind of asinine behavior by Mr. Gibson, and not be able to figure out that they could do much, much better.
I believe Charlie Gibson and take him at his word. When you live in a liberal news media bubble, stories such as this one are kept away from you. They hide it from you. That leaves you in the dark of course because what you learn in life is that there are many other things happening around you and no one editor or news gatherer should have the right to hide stories from you. Poor Charlie.
BTW George Snufalufugus was on Hannity radio & when asked about this, George gave a very similar answer to that of Charlies Gibson except that he said he would have to look into it. Take that for what it’s worth.

Covering for Obama and totally oblivious to what constitutes news, he’s basically abdicated news coverage to the cable networks, FOX in particular.
I think that Gibson knew about the ACORN story and thought it was beneath him. The reason I say that is his dismissive laugh when Roma asks him the question about ACORN. If didn’t he really didn’t know anything about the story, I think he would have asked Roma what the story was about.
