4 Men Arrested In Hofstra Rape Case

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Police say an 18-year-old Hofstra University student was gang-raped by five men on campus early Sunday morning.

Police have made four arrests and are looking for the fifth suspect.

Cops would not say whether the victim knew any of the men beforehand or where on the sprawling Hempstead campus she was attacked.

19-year-old Jesus Ortiz and 21-year-old Rondell Bedward, both of the Bronx were arraigned on rape charges on Monday. Ortiz also face grand larceny charges for allegedly stealing the woman's mobile phone.

19-year-old Stalin Felipe, of the Bronx, and 20-year-old Kevin Taveras, of Brentwood, Long Island were to be arraigned Tuesday in Hempstead.

My husband and I were students at Hofstra in the 60’s. It was a wonderful campus. The neighboring towns and Hempstead, where the school is located ,have turned into cesspools.

So sad. Happening to so many of our formerly beautiful suburbs. Affirmative action, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac ACORN, portable welfare checks!

That’s why so many of my neighbors are heading to Montana!

The question is, did they get their SEIU cards revoked before ACORN fired them?

From Newsday on-line :

A woman in the courtroom who identified herself as Taveras’ mother but wouldn’t give her name said , “ He’s a good kid . I’m shocked . “

Typical .

“good kid”...yeah, right.

I bet all four have single moms and were raised on food stamps paid for by the US taxpayer.

Any chance she was out partying with them, so she put herself in harm’s way? Not that this excuses assault. But if they went out and randomly attacked some innocent victim then the crime is even more heinous.

She was at a dance club on campus , and danced with one of the perps . He got her to go with him to a room where the gang proceeded to rape her . This is according to Newsday .

Speaking of scholarships - just the other day I read that the government wants to take over all the student loans. They currently write 20% but want to take over 100%. Don’t know if it’s true.

Hell , Long Island used to be a nice place in the 60’s ! Now everybody I knew that lived there has split or will as soon as they retire . I made the biggest move - I left the country and went to Japan where I still am .
