One of Pete Stark's Town Hall meetings was held in Fremont, California. Although the media reported that only one person was in opposition to Stark in San Leandro, Fremont was a different story.
A senior citizen told Pete "don't pee on my leg and then tell me it's raining", Pete's reply: "I wouldn't dignify you by peeing on your leg - I wouldn't waste the urine". Not exactly Congressional level behavior in my opinion...
Here is a condensed version of the meeting which gives you a flavor of the questions that opponents and supporters alike asked Stark.

I think that stark is brain dead. That really is the only explanation for what he says.
Stark even makes Democrats wince. One of the reason Charlie Rangle hangs on to his Ways and Means Chairmanship is that Stark in next in line and neither Democrats of Republicans want to see that. He is a tru loose cannon.
Pete Stark is probably the best living example (Kennedy is finally gone, Byrd is at least brain-dead, and there are others who should be gone) of why the USA needs term limits on Congressional politicians...
Stark (for y’all who don’t know) is the author of the hated Stark Amendments to the Medicare statutes, which easily tripled the costs of administering health care by basically assuming that every doc was taking kickbacks for referrals and requiring all sorts of heinously burdensome reporting requirements. Some of those requirements, and OIG’s interpretation of them, can send a provider to jail for an unknowing and SELF-REPORTED violation.

It’s amazing how Californians keep electing these clowns who then tell their constituents to Fortney Off. But then when you allow illegals to vote, you get whay you pay for.

KAHLIFONIA once called “Boutique Medicine” (cute, huh?) by bypassing the universal system, not getting that needed treatment will be the least of your problems.
Use some of those free cell phone long distance minutes and call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and give YOUR congresscritter a piece of your mind while it’s still legal to do so.
