ACORN fires back at critics after sting

The liberal activist group ACORN, reeling after hidden-camera videos showed its employees giving tax advice to a woman posing as a prostitute, went on the offensive Saturday by accusing conservatives of smearing the organization to undermine President Obama's health care overhaul plans.
The group already had fired two employees in Washington and two in Baltimore who were caught in the sting videos, but the flap prompted the Obama administration late last week to cancel plans for ACORN to work on the 2010 census.
The Baltimore video, which hit the Internet on Thursday and aired Friday on the Fox News Channel, also intensified Republican calls for a congressional probe of ACORN. The group has long weathered charges of criminal activity ranging from voter fraud to racketeering as well as criticism of its financial ties and close cooperation with President Obama's 2008 campaign for the White House.
"It is no coincidence that the most recent attacks have been launched just when health care reform is gaining traction," Bertha Lewis, ACORN's chief organizer, said in a press release Saturday. "It is clear they've had these tapes for months."
Ms. Lewis said conservative forces were conspiring to make ACORN the "Willie Horton for 2009," referring to the convicted murderer who committed more crimes while on work release from a Massachusetts prison and was featured in a 1988 campaign ad criticizing Democratic presidential nominee Michael S. Dukakis as being supposedly soft on crime.
"We are the boogeyman for the right wing and its echo chambers," Ms. Lewis said.
Calls for an investigation have come from the House Republican Conference and individual members, including Republican Reps. Roscoe G. Bartlett of Maryland and Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.

I sent an email to my Congressman demanding he join in the investigation called on by Rep. Charles Boustany and to deny ACORN anymore federal funding. I suggest everyone contact their Congress critters about this criminal enterprise.
I would say it might be more appropriately timed with the attempted Marxist takeover of America by the Obama Thugocracy. What does Obama’s DeathCare Bill have to do with healthcare in general? NOTHING!
And we should not forget how much money the ACORN mob got from Obama under the ruse of the “stimulus” — BILLIONS!!!! Nice to be able to finance your own corrupt vote-generating factory, at taxpayer expense.

Well, Ms Lewis, I don’t know if ACORN is the boogeyman, but I’m well convinced that it is a fraud, a front for criminal activity, and one of the most corrupt organizations I’ve ever seen. All of you ought to be in jail, and your organizations forever forbidden from feeding at the public trough.

These people are just pure evil. What decent human being hears a plan about using little girls as prostitutes without so much as blinking? Much less offering advise to help them achieve their goal...perhaps evil is not a strong enough word. Are none of these women mothers? Are their ties to obama stronger than the instinct to protect children?

Obama rarely surprises me, because I expect evil and he usually more than meets that expectation, while I almost never expect even a hint of good from that socialist. Still, this one shocked me. I was wrong in assuming that obama had some (well hidden) shred of human decency. I assumed, incorrectly, that his willingness to abort his own grandchild was due to a lack of understanding and not a total lack of human decency. It looks like the thug in our White House is happy to protect people who support child prostitution if that will strengthen him politically.
Even the worst liberals we've dealt with previously in America's history would have turned their backs on someone supporting such disgusting behavior, as ACORN did, but obama has no standards and no decency. The only sensible conclusion is that obama is intentionally choosing evil because it is evil. Shakespeare did a good job making Iago an almost plausible rogue, almost, but until I encountered obama, I never believed there could be a real villian who chose villiany in the full knowledge that his choice was evil.
I know. It boggles the mind to think they could be so cruel. They’re probably working girls themselves and think nothing of exposing young girls to the ‘trade’.
They said they did it, but they probably didn't. This reminds me of the times when sleasy politicians are caught receiving 'campaign donations' (actually bribe money) from illegal sources. When caught they act surprised and assert that they have instructed their campaign headquarters to return the money. But, was the money ever returned? I doubt it.
I think in obama’s case it is a simply lack of family roots. He had no father for all intents and purposes and his mother dumped at such and early age that was bound to be lacking any moral compass. But you are right, even with that said he is evil beyond what anyone could expect.
My main concern is these women. They look to be matronly types on the tape. Forgive me the racism(sarc)...Black women of the age they appear to be are rarely without grandchildren much less children. How on earth can than they be so cruel to 13 year old baby girls? My own grandmas would have taken out grown men to save me from that sort of fate.
And that's what needs to be stressed in all this. People were outraged when jean manufacturers were exploiting young children used in the manufacture of their product; why then should Acorn get a pass for offering to aid and abet the sexual exploitation of children?
These people are what is known as "true believers." They transcend "right and wrong," "good and evil." They have a goal that will be "for the good of society," so "the ends justify the means."
It's their way of justifying to themselves their actions, and believe me, those actions can be quite horrible. Planning for the sexual slavery of children is by no means the worse that "true believers" are capable of. "True believers" mixed the poison into the Kool-Aid in Guina, and then had their children drink it. "True Believers" were among those who organized and implemented the starvation of the Ukraine, killing as many as 50 million men, women, and children. "True Believers" were among Mao's inner circle and secret police, who may have killed upwards of 100 million innocents, and still perform forced abortions to this day. "True Believers" patrol the streets of Saudi Arabia, and when a school caught fire in 2002, they locked the frightened girls in the building to ensure they weren't dressed "immodestly" while trying to escape the fire. At least 14 were killed. The list goes on and on, in every generation.
This sort of thought allows ACORN workers, from their top leadership to the volunteers to do what ever it takes to accomplish their goals. That's why they'll commit voter fraud, intimidate voters, or even encourage the sexual slavery of children. Because eventually, they'll be able to "do good."

I know what you mean. My Grandma shot several burglars in her life (as her neighborhood went down hill), some with rock salt and some with buckshot, depending on whether she thought they could be reformed. I'm quite certain she would not have used salt on someone pimping out children, nor would she have lost any sleep over her good deed for the day.
Actually the ACORN worker insisted that she "did not hear that" and warned against mentioning it so someone with less selective hearing.
ACORN and the SEIU are joined at the hip, shoulders and head. And the SEIU is big-time for health care and the public option.
