Obama's youth recruitment continues unabated with last week's co-announcement by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Girls Scouts CEO Kathy Cloninger of a new "Preparedness" patch for Girl Scouts. Yep, the Girl Scouts are the latest DHS/Obama recruits..As Yahoo Daily News reports in an article entitled "US Girl Scouts prepare for war, pestilence," The move is part of a month-long government effort to make Americans better able to cope with natural and man-made disasters. The Doug Powers blog astutely comments, “Man-made disaster” is of course Hopenchange speak for “terrorist attack.” No doubt the Girl Scouts will also be taught that “in the event of a terrorist attack, do not call it a ‘terrorist attack.’”
Note: the actual guide/manual on the "Together We Prepare Patch" focuses on natural disasters nevertheless news reports indicate The new patch will focus on being prepared for all sorts of emergencies, from fires and earthquakes to a flu pandemic or a dirty bomb. The alliance is with DHS (rather than, for example, the Salvation Army) makes such suspicions and, perhaps, the reality itself inevitable. The DHS was created after 9/11 to take charge of airport and border security, natural disaster response, anti-terrorism efforts and a host of surveillance and security programs. What are people supposed to think? The official answer, of course, is that we should trust the motives of government officials who wish to have even more children in uniform co-operating with and being taught to respect 'authority.' TO say the author of the piece is a bit errr...disgruntled and a lefties would e an understatement.
But then since the GSA leadership, for years, have had a real leftie bent, it is odd that the two don’t see eye to eye.
I would note the Boy Scouts were based on the British experiance of the the Boer War and the sad state of the youth drafted to fight.
Unless I'm quite mistaken, this is inaccurate.
Generally, the wiretaps were on communications from outside the US to US citizens.
If the mafia don has a wiretap on him, the cops aren't required to get an additional warrant for everybody he talks to.
Since the Congress authorized the President to use force in Iraq, and very carefully never rescinded this authorization, I’m curious why the author thinks the war was unconstitutional.
I am currently watching a movie called “The Holocaust”, it came out in about 1979. Very good movie. I wonder why we have forgotten.

This must be why the boy scouts also participate in preparedness drills and even have a merit badge called emergency preparedness. Oh wait they have done this for years and besides the boy scouts are the good guys. I think it admirable that the girl scouts are doing this. I would not even have a problem with doing some of it in schools and I am of the hide under the desk when the missile warning goes off generation.

“Fuhrer Rise of a madman” this was on VHS and I got it my local library. It must have been put out in the 1950’S but it is EXCELLENT!!!
It talks about how Hitler got a hold of the youth and got them to turn on their parents. One mother confronts her son for turning in his father. He says it was his “duty to Germany”. The mother then says “how one girl killed herself after she turned in her mother and her mother was taken away, and another boy did the same”. This boy was stone cold about turning in his father. It seems that other children had regrets about doing so. This mother was trying to tell her son how valuable the “family unit” was but he only thought about the “good of Germany” well damn kid what do you think made Germany strong if it was not the “family unit”???????

The author is anything but a lefty. She is a consistent defender of civil liberty and smaller government across the board(even during Republican administrations!!!) There are plenty of "righties" who are against Obama's warw and plenty of lefties who are for them.
Many have been working to “socialize” our youth for a VERY long time.
Look up where “The Pledge of Allegiance” came from.

Historically, the origin and evolution of GS in the USA (from 1912), going from hiding in bloomers in 1912 to 1918 when society openly accepted girls and women starting to do “men's jobs”, had much to do with the girls learning to provide civilian service and community support during wartime, particularly WW1.
And of course Boy Scouts evolved from General Robert Baden Powell's “games for boys” to teach skills that were useful in times of survival and stress and war, and the Girl Guides/Scouts always wanted to- begged to- do the same things.
I don't care for the fascist overtones of obama’s so-called “Citizen Corps” but I think GS founder Juliette Gordon Low would have approved of this patch program and the apolitical practical skills it teaches.

Saturday he made a reference about a symbol the producers use on his show. It’s of red white and blue and makes me think of the corner of our flag. Maybe someone else can remember exactly what he said. Please...I do NOT mean that he is against our American flag.... that’s not what he meant.
It sure is nice of Obama to prepare our youth to deal with the destruction he and the Neocoms are wreaking. Do the parents realize that their little girls are being groomed to serve as good Communist workers?

That is the one...They had a lot of home movies of hiter and ava braun in the film. It interview people who knew hiter and ava too. These people must be long dead by now. It was done in a 1950’s style.
The left attempted to infiltrate both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. They didn’t succeed with the BSA, but unfortunately they made inroads to the GS. The national leaders of the Girl Scouts is made up of lesbians. Very sad to this former scout who started as a Brownie and went through up to a Cadette.
Juliette Lowe is turning in her grave. This is what the GS used to be:

The American Heritage Girls are an excellent alternative. They are very family-oriented.
Are the American Heritage Girls group the same as those related to the dolls and books? The reason I ask is that a few years ago the American Heritage Girls website had links to pro-abortion sites.
