LOS ANGELES, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Actress Tina Fey won an Emmy on Saturday for her uncanny portrayal of former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live," while pop star Justin Timberlake also was honored for his appearance on the NBC network's veteran sketch-comedy series.

....my feeling is that all Emmy and Academy awards are skewed Left....same for Nobel prize for literature....there hasn't been a white American-born male winner since John Steinbeck in 1962.

The Oscars aren’t all that skewed. Look at the Best Picture winners. Generally a fairly conservative bunch with a few exceptions.

I only watch the awards shows to see the dresses. It is obvious they are nothing but far Leftys giving awards to themselves. What a phony world they inhabit.

How do you justify giving an award for one single spoof-performance that in 10-20 years, no one will know what it was all about?

Didn’t she do it throughout the year? Most TV is pretty ephemeral.

Yep. Paul Shanklin, the white male comic/impersonator who perfectly portrays Obama's voice and style in his litany of lampoons, speeches, songs, etc., will certainly never be considered for such awards. Because, as you said, the Left controls these 'prestigious' awards.

I have to agree Tina’s spoofs were very well done and very funny. And it’s not her fault that the liars in the MSM pretended that they were a news event and that it was Palin herself who said “I can see Alaska from my house.”

If they hadn’t used her spoof they would have just used more lying footage from elsewhere.

Of course it’s obvious why she got the award. It was a good job, but it was also political.

It’s an election open to all members of the Academy probably including Shanklin. Do you think the voting is fixed?

If "heavily slanted towards leftist politics" means 'fixed', then yes, I do think it's fixed.

They are skewed left - and conservatives are "left out".

My suggestion is that we do what we did with the MSM - just turn them OFF. There isn't enough money in the world to make me watch an Emmy or Hollywood Academy Awards show.

I'm sick of the silly hatred of conservatives, I'm sick of the self serving greenie bull ( one square of toilet paper - but a dress for a $100,000 - with that 100 grand spreading carbon all over the world)

it was Palin herself who said “I can see Alaska from my house.”

no, she said
PALIN: They’re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.

Tina's spoofs were utterly convincing to a large number of Leftwingtards in the news media. You continue to hear these guys quoting Tina as if Sarah had actually said the words.

Initially I thought they were doing that simply to mislead people, but more recently I've come to realize the Leftwingtards really do confound the two people and are so devastatingly stupid they cannot be convinced otherwise.

Leftwingtard celebrities and "newsies" are too stupid to walk and breathe at the same time.

That’s what I said. I said that the media “pretended that” Palin herself said it, when, of course, it was Tina Fey who said it.

It was a joke.

And only an ignorant, whorish media would continue to push it as the truth when they were repeatedly reminded that it was a joke.

Tina Fey did a good job with the spoof. I have always disliked Fey because she was so blatantly liberal when bashing President Bush but that one was well done.

I also always thought Tina Fey was a very beautiful woman....... until she dressed up like Sarah Palin. Then it became so obvious that she cannot hold a candle to Palin in the beauty department. I now think Tina Fey looks sort of like a mouse and I don't see the beauty I once did.

"Then what you really mean is that there aren’t enough conservatives in the Entertainment Industry."

Nah, I mean it's fixed. Look what happens to those in Hollywood who are conservatives, such as Mel Gibson, or those who speak their minds against the corrupt status quo, such as Marlon Brando did a few years back. This is why it's 'fixed', one will find it very difficult to prosper in Hollywood if one shows a conservative bent. They may survive, and perhaps may even prosper if they are talented enough, but at a very high price.

I don’t begrudge her. She’s a funny lady, and she’s not hard to look at. I actually want to make her even more successful. As in when 2012 rolls around, Sarah Palin (God willing) rolls to victory, and Lorne Michaels drops in on her and says in that Dr. Evil voice, “Tina, I’m not just offering you a new contract. I’m offering you the potentiality of growing rich beyond the dreams of freakin’ avarice.”

Gibson has won numerous Oscars. Even ‘Passion...’ was nominated for three Oscars. Brando was already considered a difficult ‘insure’ long before he made any comments about the ‘Jews in Hollywood’. And he worked steadily after that anyway.

"Gibson has won numerous Oscars. Even ‘Passion...’ was nominated for three Oscars."

And the Hollywood moguls, the media and various Jewish Defense organizations tore poor Gibson to shreds, (and assailed the Catholic Church itself just for the sport of it all). Gibson's enormous talent and great standing of beloved fans proved too much for the antichrists and anti-conservative mobs in Hollywood; they met their match, sort of. But they sure as hell savaged poor Mel for as long and hard as they could. Maybe even pushed him over the edge to pick up a drink. After witnessing that sanquinary battle of all of Hollywood, joined by the msm, the JDL and the ADL, vs. Mel Gibson alone, I think it's safe to say that if any other conservative actor or producer had something conservative to say or produce, they knew they'd better speak it lower than a whisper, and say it to no one else but their own mother.
