The thing you have to understand about Rifqa’s case is this -— the family is not going to attempt to kill her ( if they mean it ) while she is physically in the USA. They know its a crime to do that.

As a minor, and a non-US citizen, they can still take her against her will back to their own country and then apply Islamic law on her for her conversion.

The above facts are not presented in the Newsweek article.
